Well..... I've not really got any news to speak of!!
I didn't get to see mr W, he had been called into surgery for an emergency, so I saw a colleague who stepped in at the last minute.
He had a look at me and said he could still see the fissure there ( but I knew it was anyway)
He said he had never heard of Botox causing any complications.. So he thought my monster hems were just from my anus being opened up for the surgery. Wasn't sure about the coccyx pain, so has put me forward for a MRI scan as soon as there is an appointment available, this would be to have a check further up and to make sure there is no infection.
He then went on to suggest LIS!!! ... I explained that all my tests came back concluding that I had a normal anal resting pressure, so I'd been told LIS was not an option for me. He went on to say that if the cut was done conservatively it could be of benefit.
CONFUSING!!!
So.... In a nutshell... I still have the fissure.... He had no further suggestions re. The hems.... And I'm just to wait for the MRI to see what is going on in there!
.????
What do we think of that??

Cor blimey OMB,
No wonder you're confused! I bet it was extremely frustrating not to have seen Mr Windsor and to have seen a colleague instead?? Image
Well, I guess it still confirms you have the fissure & that the hems are pretty much 100% a side effect of the surgery, but not much more than that? Will you get the MRI done in London too? I think, based on that feedback today, you're probably best going for a further opinion - I think I would if I could.... Are you able to speak with Mr Windsor about how confused you are right now?
Sorry that you didn't get any further reassurance from your appointment too.....Did you do this privately??........
I suppose the one positive is that there was nothing new or negative picked up from the session but I would try and speak to someone about the confusion that today has caused for you........
So sorry you didn't get much out of today but hang in there! and hoping things DO pick up very soon for you......Image

It is frustrating, but how many doctors I visited every had different opinion.
It is no surprise, they just operate with know methods and can suggest ointment, botox or LIS, finally advanced flaps.
When I got talk with mr Windsor last week, I asked about tests, but his concern was that you correctly cannot measure resting pressure being in pain. It has to be measured when you don't have a pain and just regular life. Of course the tone is high when you are in pain, the tone will be even more high when you will try to put some stuff down there. I don't know how your tests were done, but I would re-evaluate results knowing this above.
Do you have now any chance to see Mr W?

Hi OMB,
So sorry that you didn't get any answers as such.I think it is good you are getting the MRI done, at least that will give you peace of mind to check that there isn't anything else going on. In the meantime Hun try to stay positive,I know it has been a long time for you and it must be hard to keep going, but you can do it.it amazes me how you keep supporting everyone on here and stay strong yourself. There will be an end to this.
I think ETO is right, could you speak to mr W, or seek another opinion? You decide what is right for you.... Hang on in there.

Nothing new to report.
Coccyx pain has ramped up again... And had a surprise second bm today, so feeling a little sorer than usual today.
It is my wedding anniversary today... But I'm making fissure friendly baked fish and salad for tea.. Don't fancy sitting on a hard chair in a restraunt!!
Have been eating and smearing the honey... No difference as yet.... It's still early days for that though.
I haven't phoned or emailed mr w yet either.... I feel like I just need a little more time in the sandpit!!

Oh OMB,
Sending you my love, my lovely, Happy Anniversary. Hope you and your hubby have a nice evening. You have got each other, and that is the most important thing.... Just think when you are healed you can have a blow out! Lol. Hope the soreness settles.Have you ever tried the Vit E suppositories? They have really helped me over the last few days. I know you are super sensitive though, so not sure if you would get any irritation from them. Carlson Vit E, from Amazon. All natural.... Xxxxxxxxx
