Thank you all.. feel like I have my own personal cheerleading squad :)
I actually sat at the computer for over 2 hours today... I was going through online withdrawal! It wasnt tooo bad.. and since I've been bored out of my mind I spent about 3 hrs making some hors d'oeuvres just as something to do ...now I feel exhausted as I was on my feet the whole time, def more comfy than sitting ..but I think these are all signs of very slowly getting back to normal.

Just an update for anyone that's following my recovery. So I'm feeling more pain these days ... I was told that this can totally happen as part of the healing process. I found I was not sleeping well so I'm back to taking a percocet at night ...helps with both the pain and my mood! LOL
Soo.. just to add insult to injury I think I may be developing a yeast infection! I have some minor symptoms and I'm super paranoid since it is so close to my wound. The last thing I need is a yeast infection that spreads into the wound. So I got a over the counter Diflucan (flucanazole) pill today and took it. I usually prefer the topical options but they cause a mess to the whole area so I think the pill is probably best. I also started taking garlic supplements as yeast hates garlic. I have been drinking a lot of apple juice lately - so I think the added sugar, stress on my body, gauze, moist environment from sitz baths probably caused this. Anyway, fingers crossed it goes away before it gets any worse ..not that it is bad right now but you never know!
I am looking forward to my wound measurements on Monday. It hurts as they will poke and prode but I want to hear that it has closed up by a significant amount! Lets see :)

Thanks Kathy! Whatever it was seems to be clearing up so I think the medication is working. My period is also due - I am wishing it away though.. It is just all too much to deal with in one region LOL ... I almost think men have it easier :)
Hope you're having a great weekend!

Just an update ...went to see my doc for my post-surgery follow up today. She seems to think my wound is healing great and she kept saying how superficial it is now compared to when I left the hospital. The daily nurse will now start packing with mesalt (packing strips infused with salt) as it tends to clean up the wound better. I'm due back in 2 weeks ..they plan to use silver nitrate on it then.
The doc said she is very optimistic that this is "it". So fingers crossed she is right .. I really hope things will be back to normal soon. I think I may start working from home next week after Labor Day. I'm sitting a lot more now but still trying to consciously stay off my bum to ensure it keeps healing. Don't know if that actually works? Anyway, hoping that I can actually go all out for Halloween this year :)
