Just doing my food diary and I have upped the linseed, started on Zinc and unfortunately have had a sore reaction to the Recto again! Sigh... I have eased off and I am using Coconut oil to soothe the area. Now some days I am in pain and others not so bad, so I am working out from my diary if there is a pattern. I want the sucker to die!
Not looking forwards to op on Friday. Hope you are okay.

I have to say I swear by Zinc - it assists in Wound repair and is vital for immunity. I can honestly say in the 2 years I've been taking it, I have had minimal colds, no flu and it's by far, the one vitamin that I actually feel does something to my system. If I stop taking it, I actually feel more knackered & begin to feel run-down too.
I always found with Coconut Oil that it doesn't heal a fissure, but it does a lot to counteract soreness that can develop in that area and feeling the area slightly lubricated rather than dry, makes me feel a lot better down there generally too.....

Just remember to have plenty to drink as soon as you are aloud and feel well enough, and maybe your movicol, and things will be fine. Usually having a general slows everything down, so I'm sure things will resume just right the next day or the day after.

Good luck tomorrow. Take double of movicol to prevent constipation. And you feel the one is reaching you, you can do enema on second date of surgery with just water, to trigger BM and secure it does not dry out in colon for too long. Afterwards you will be on track again.

My surgery went well. The excision sites are sore, and I feel like I have a triple hangover! I wasn't sick with the Anaesthetic like I was back in April when I had my butt surgery. Well I had a BM this morning... It was better than I thought, I did drink tons of water, and had my usual vits with small amounts of Fissure friendly foods. And of course the trusty Movicol.

On the Fissure front, I am sore, and the Nitro is irritating me! I feel like I am scratched back there and the pain is around a 5... I am keeping the food diary to see if I can find out what causes more pain and the dreaded plugs. I am producing some good Bristol 4's. Keep going.....

Glad to hear its all over and done with ..... You need to really rest and take it easy for a few days now, until you get all that anaesthetic out of your system.
As the nitro is irritating you, would you consider diltiazem?? Have you used it before?? It really helped me (before it half killed me !!! Lol)
How much mov are you taking now?? Is it enough?
I hope you heal well from your surgery... At least one thing has been sorted!!

Hope you are okay, no I haven't unfortunately! I wish I could to end this fissure nightmare! I have had an unrelated surgery, which hasn't helped my butt.

I am just taking each day as it comes now.... Some days the monster is sore and others not so bad... The routine is still as strict as ever... Sigh....
