JHH you are not alone we all worked out our minds to the point of going crazy before the doctor tells us is just a fissure.
I guess you may be getting the sentinel pile that is so usual when you have a fissure for so long and sometimes the scar tissue also get to do its magic and give us some scare time also.
Hopefully the cream the doctor give you will help, I also got a painful re tear the last time the doc decided to puck more into the fissure last Nov, manipulating the skin tag caused me to go back into spams, pain and bleeding.
Last month my app was no as bad. Keep the stools soft and easy to pass and keep using the cream.
Perhaps next app you will be healed and life will go to normal again.

Congrats on the car!
LOL yes timing is everything these days :-)
Dunno why doctors in this country like to shove the whole arm up there, but it seems to be common praxis here. I also have a colonoscopy waiting when Im healed.
Im sure the spasms will dissapear at some point. Maybe even sooner if you dont stress about it.

Good news JHH, hope the cream works.
Do you think stress can make it worse?
I feel almost numb back there, but still in pain?! Weird.
Is this spasms? Constantly all day?! Better when I stand up

I feel the cream works as long as I keep my BM soft, and dont do silly things like biking.
Yeah, I could imagine stress would tighten up your butt, and we all know stress can provoke the most bizzare symptoms, so why not.
When I have spasms its usually the feeling of having a golfball stuck up there, along with some burning from the fissure.

Day 17 on nitro
Still sore from the exam yesterday, but doing better.
Had a good soft BM this morning, but still have spasms and burning now 4 hours later. The pain however is not as bad as it has been. Hopefully, im on my way to better days.

JHH, good to hear you're having a better day despite the invasion!
I tried the following again today... with amazing effect; if you 'go' as soon as you wake up like me, try and apply a little nitro (1cm or less) at least 15-20 mins before you have to go. It makes the whole process a lot easier and seems to stop the spasms coming on. I guess because things are more relaxed there is less friction? I'm totally pain free again!
Typical I would be feeling excellent on the day of the CRS. Image
I'm not there until 7pm tonight, so may not be able to post result until tomorrow...

Yes, I go as soon as I get up, so no problem timing it. Will try to apply a little bit before BM tomorrow!
Thanks for the tip!
Btw, do you eat the same every day?

Yes I eat the same every day... although I do vary the soup every day so I don't go insane; pea & ham, vegetable, broccoli & stilton etc.
The fish I vary between salmon, tuna and cod. Vegetables I normally stick with broccoli, cauliflower, peas, etc. Sometimes have roasted veg which is onions, peppers etc. I have to be careful with raw peppers though (IBS trigger) so I make sure they are well cooked!
I also try and drink a little more water around meal times. Normally a good 400-500ml water during the meal and then another shortly afterwards.

Just came back from a 5km walk. No pain! Yippie :-)
I have been thinking about keeping the same diet, since I need to work out the plug problem, so the plan is to copy yesterday, and see how it works out. Im sure thats my main issue that keeps me from healing.
Im looking forward to hear what your CRS has to say. Hopefully he can see some healing! Good luck with it!
