Lars
Good luck. Like someone said above the worst is over. Stay off the butt as much as you can. What i did is lay on my side watching TV when i could. Just be patient with yourself while healing. Change out the badages and keep the bottom clean. The surgeon told me not to use alot of soap down there.
Take Care

lars, what is fissure pain? Image
i didn't know you had a fistulotomy a while back!
at least you can now pass gas in peace Image
without really knowing for sure, perhaps you are just having some pain from weaning off the pain medication and you are feeling those things....i am sure you are on your way to recovery.
just take it easy and hang in there.

I had some fissure pain during BM Lars!!! I healed 99.9%. You had more surgery ( LIS and fissurectomy) so you will undoubtedly have more pain. Sounds like you are worried? I'm like Happyass, whats fissure pain? You are now set up to heal, but it *just takes several weeks* for a damned fissure to get better. But it will. The tightness is gone -- you are farting more freely and thge tightness was the main reason you couldn't heal before! It's coming now, so get ready for a life free of butt pain, it is just around the corner!!!

lars, i had the exact same pain after both of my LIS surgeries. of course, i never healed. after fissurectomy, i had EXCRUCIATING pain for the 1st week, worse than anything i've ever felt in my life. it subsided by the middle of the second week and is now just really uncomfortable and raw all the time. you just had surgery so pain is to be expected. i mean, literally, hasn't it only been a few days for you? don't start worrying until it's been a few weeks. just take it easy now and try to relax, i know it's hard. i freak out constantly b/c i'm still in pain 4 weeks after fissurectomy. it HAS to get better.

Lars -
It is so easy to worry after surgery. I did enough of it, and I still do worry too. I am 5 weeks post op. I had no fissure pain post op at first. I did have a setback at 3 weeks post op that was painful. Since then things have been good & pain free. You had alot more work done than I, so give it time. I am still trying to heal too.
Do you feel any looser?

fissure pain = dull ache, throbbing pain, burning etc
Sometimes it feels like fissure pain but sometimes not.. Right now it just feels like surgery pain..
Having a bm is hell after LIS. I had very little pain before LIS but now it hurts a lot more..I bleed a lot. I had surgery on Tuesday so not many days have passed.
I guees I just thought I was a fast healer since I recovered so fast after my absec and fistula surgery. And yes I feel a lot looser, I have had silent farts without pushing all the time since LIS :)
Thank you all for the kind words :)

:( its bound to be sore for a while - any surgery which involves cutting is going to hurt, and its in such a sensitive place! Its a good sign you are looser, that means it can heal now with adequate blood flow. Hang in there, Lars, it will get better! Its early days yet. Hope your pain lessens soon. Image

I want to second what Val said, Lars. This type recovery is VERY difficult and painful, but if you rest and stay off your tail you will see things get better and better each day. Yes, BMS are rough, make sure you jump in a hot bath after each BM!! And take your pain killers about 20 minutes prior to the BM, if you have them..
