Hey fissurevictim i havent booked to see a surgeon yet I'm seeing my doctor in 6 days an will ask what my options are an try get referred to a bum specialist not just a general surgeon here in nz you can have surgery done for free by a general surgeon or you can pay to see a bum specialist an for lis to be done by a specialist here costs up to $6000 nzd which is enough to by 3 good second hand cars here haha just to give you an idea I want the best of the best an for it to be cheap or free is that to much to ask for? I'm doing ok at the moment so I'm in the tricking you stage that makes you think I'm better I can do this. How are you doing I'd like to know how people are doing like 2 years post surgery have you seen anyone's up date?

Hi MM, I am sorry hear that the cost is too high to get surgery done by specialist. It's typically covered under health care here in Canada but the wait time is pathetic...

Hey FV, my Botox recovery is not going as smoothly as I thought it would because of a stretch of hard and lumpy BMs this week. I've begun taking miralax again and resumed probiotics in the hope the they will help. My diet has not gone through any major changes so I'm not sure why this is happening. You can try keeping a diet and stool diary to see why you may be getting sudden changes in consistency. My diet record has been very useful in trying to fix my problems. Are you having any spicy food? That may cause loose BMs. I've cut spice out of my diet almost completely, very difficult to do for an Indian, lol, but it must be done!

PnH it's actually good idea to keep a diet n stool diary. Thanks for the suggestion. Will do that now onwards. However, I actually had too much leafy vegetables last week, I think that lead to loose BM's.

It's difficult for me too to avoid spicy things (being an Indian - me too) and also we Have different spices as well in every dishes.

Too many leafy vegetables could cause loose stools since they contain insoluble fiber. However, I'm not sure they could be the main cause. Also chilli and pepper are very irritating for a fissure, so I've given up on them. I haven't found an issue with other flavoring spices.

Update: I searched online for best CRS in my area and found one. Went to my GP and asked him to refer me to that CRS. Wait time for that CRS is 18 months. I also gave a written details of what I am going through and asked my GP to attach it with the referral and make it most urgent.

I am very particular about this CRS coz he is very experienced and well known.

Now I will gave a call to postpartum suport society and they said that they will also push for the earliest appointment.

I am doing all I can to get an end to this fissure thing. Hope to be successful as soon as possible. Fingers crossed

Fissure victim I will be here with you on your journey as I too am strongly considering lis I've had this fissure come and go since I had my first baby 3.5 years ago I was on this website just like you when my son was 4months old telling everyone I'm to scared for lis just like you but now I'm back we can't live like this the fissure will heal come backheal then come back over an over for ever if we don't put a stop to it. I think I told you I also have a 5week old an like is not good like it should be at this time. We mite both look back at this chat an say we are happy to of left that life behind us you are lucky you have the ball rolling I have to wait for my doctors appointment then try hard to get a free crs but he will probably tell me I can only hsve it done free from a general surgeon
