In a way I hope they haven't fallen off - it would explain the pain lol. I guess if they have dropped off that's another 4 fresh wounds for my body to heal... I'm still as tight as ever though so Botox is yet to kick in. I do take shallow baths after every BM which helps for a bit :-)

So much is happening in medicine at the moment but we are yet to reap the benefits! I'm just holding out for some miracle cream that's not from China lol

Day 7 - exactly a week after my procedure.

BM this morning excruciating, an 8 out of 10. Pain again was at the same spot again and felt like tearing/ripping. Had a sits bath after which stopped the spasms but once again feeling rubbish. Oh but on the plus side, no blood for a few days.

- update: just had a shower to go to the barbers and just as I got out the shower I felt a horrible shot of pain at 6pm again now I'm on my side - any movement and the pain returns for a few seconds what on earth is this?! It's not going away. It's where my fissure is but no blood still. I'm so tempted just to take a long walk off a short pier!! :( :(

Paracetamol and ibuprofen. I'm taking one 30mg of codeine after a BM like today.

I have a weird theory, could this pain be a result of a posterior hemmy that was banded but has fallen off without me noticing leaving an open sore? Just trying to figure out why I'm in this much pain when I didn't even have a fissurectomy.

Hemmie banding should be done above the dentate line (which is supposed to be where we don't feel pain but just pressure). So theoretically not, but everyone is different. The sores from banding should not leave anything like a fissure as they would be too high up. I bet your butt could really be spasming though and this would make the fissure feel worse. Do you have any muscle relaxants? Would you have interest in trying to apply some GTN?

I've still got my gtn from before my surgery, I was just worried using it now could make my hemmi recovery worse? I just don't know anymore I've got so many lotions and potions in my drawers but nothing has worked.

I have often wondered that about those vasodilating creams but there are studies out there that have used them to treat thrombosed hemmies and if your hemmies are worsened because the bloodflow is constricted by a spasming internal sphincter then it would help. It's hard to say but if you applied it and you felt worse it should only last maybe 8 hours? You could try the tiniest little amount and see.

Is there anyone you can talk to at your surgeons office or the hospital? I know my CRS told me I could use it right after LIS and there were others on here that were told that too, but hemmies are different. Are you still bleeding much?

Are you able to get more time off from work?

Not bleeding that much only streaks on the stool. On that note day 8 - feeling great! Only difference is I've not had my bowels open yet but I'm in no pain at the moment. I know as soon as I have my bowels open that will change but for the minute I'm enjoying this lovely feeling.

Update 11:56 - just had my bowels open, I notice that I don't get much time to get to the loo before it comes (must be the botox?) pain less than yesterday :D but still a 5/10 and coconut oil sitz bath after helped. Still having spasms now half an hour later but they are tolerable. there is still blood streaked on the stools so still must be bleeding from somewhere - maybe the fissure.

Who knows.

That's the botox alright! I hope you have predictable bowels ;)

Glad to hear you are starting to get some relief. Seems right on schedule with what I experience. The nice thing about the botox is it will gradually kick in over the next week or so letting you get used to it slowly.

I would think the blood is coming from the banding sites but who knows. Hopefully it will stop soon.

day 9 - awful is all I can say. BM this morning was so painful I thought I was going to pass out. No blood but all the pain is coming from my fissure site at 6pm - it's feeling worse than before my EUA but that makes no sense. I used to be able to pull back my skin tag to get a look at how it's healing and I tried this morning to see why I was in so much pain but the slightest Tug sent me into a world of pain like having a BM. What's going on down there?!?
