Thanks omb + msimon, I'm so nervous. As far as I'm aware it's just an eua to look at what's going on. I've had done good days recently and some bad but enough to make me wonder if I should hold the eua and wait. But I'm going to do it just for an answer - he may band my hemmis with a bit of Botox if I'm lucky. It's so easy to forget the pain of yesterday and live in today but looking back over my posts from the year my pain at times has been unbareable!! I've come so far and feel on the right road. I've not bled in months. Fingers crossed nothing is made worse on Friday - that's my biggest fear. Will keep you all posted.

to describe my pain today, a day before my EUA is a burning when I open my bowels, not a sharp glass feeling but like the burning I used to have after a BM but it only lasts for when the stool is passing, like a deep burning at the 6pm position... odd.

Lets hope it's good news. It sounds like things are improving.

I'm alive. Anaesthetic went fine and had no sickness post op. The surgeon was lovely and did banding of all my hemmis (4 of them) and injected Botox. I'm so lucky my surgeon got changed my last surgeon said she saw nothing on the anuscope and that my fissure was healed. After my eua I asked him what he saw and he confirmed a chronic fissure with 4 large hemmis. Pain is really bad down there around a 7/10 at the moment but I'm home. Any advice post op would be great how to ensure Botox and banding is effective.

I'm glad you are all done and safe at home now.

Were the hemmies internally banded?

The Botox can take up to ten days to really kick in, so don't be disappointed if you don't feel it working for a bit.

Take it easy..... And keep on top of your pain with pain killers xxxxxx

Yea there were four internal hemmis that were banded. When he confirmed there was a chronic fissure after being told I was fully healed by the other surgeon I cried with happiness that I wasn't just imagining it. Goes to show getting a second opinion is so important. I've got a week off work now so any tips to help the healing process? It feels as if my bum has a throbbing spikey tennis ball stuck up there at the moment. I'm dreading going to the loo tomorrow! Just had some fybogel and magnesium to help things along...

On a side note, I really need to pass wind!!! It's just building up and I just can't fart! I thought it was meant to be looser down there now after the Botox but I feel tighter than a knot in the end of a party balloon lol.

Do you have any of the fissure ointments (nifedipin, nitro or diltiazem)? That may help with the spasm.
