Rachael,

Since they have not found anything visibly wrong with me... That's their explanation as to why I am in pain. I do wish you a full recovery because you've suffered for so long. I am looking forward to your success story! I will not give up either, trying to live a normal life.

Hi Rach, I'm sorry to hear you're still struggling. But I'm really glad the surgery is scheduled. Please don't be afraid of it, it's a walk in the park compared to the pain you've experienced. I promise. Your pain tolerance is amazing.

Stick with your diet and routines and ride it out. It's has to get better.

All the best dear.

Drink plenty, poop gently!

What is the difference between re-tears and small fissures? Sorry for my confusion! Thanks!

No question is a duly question. A retear is when your fissure won't heal properly and keeps opening up and bleeding. Small fissures are new fissures I guess. I had one fissure to begin with, but due to the stress of this it caused another. Crazy eh.

Hi A and M,
Yes same for me A, stinging weird uncomfortable feeling, like when you have a paper cut. Tightness and feeling like a Brick is exiting. Then when you look in the toilet it's a small Bristol 4. Ugh. I just wish I'd never strained. Never, ever again.
I've ruined my life straining to go to the toilet.

Now my IBS is under control and I'm having the LIS, I hope I have a chance.

A, how are you doing? Your Botox is soon? Xxx

Hey missus!

I've been very well actually. Ups and downs but generally managing my condition. I guess it's going to be a long journey still. I'm on 2 Movicols a morning which took me a while to figure out what was right for me. I usually struggle slightly once a month as my ovaries and womb decide to steal all my fluids and my Digestive system can't figure out why.

I've been very well for the past few months though. No re-tears recently and generally no pain. Just a bit of discomfort from the scar tissue which I think will always be a reminder to be careful. Botox has pretty much worn off (it's hard to tell whether it was working in the first place), but all the muscles down there are a bit slack from the lack of use.

Trying to steer clear of bad foods and make sure I have fresh veg as much as possible. The usual really.

Certainly not a 100% success story but I'm definitely 95% better than I was over a year ago.

It's a shame that I still see the struggles of my old friends on here but at the same time I'm glad you're still about helping other get through their fissure problems. I remember how much I relied on this place for help and support. I should really pop back on here more often.

Hi Welshy!

I do miss you! You've got to get on with your life though! Glad to hear things are going well for you... I think the fear of re-tear is always there, but you are managing very well by the sounds of things.

Sticking to the diet will help and I'm sure now you know what to do you can keep things well under control.
Have you seen that OMB has had her flap surgery? There's still a few of us oldies on here! j healed from his Botox and he still pops in every so often!

I hope that you continue to do well, and I would like it if you pop in and see how I'm doing when I've had the LIS!
I definitely will be pooping gently after surgery! Xxxx

Rachael,

You are describing my symptoms to a t... Then after sitting down for a period of time, it starts to burn in there... Very frustrating! My Botox is scheduled for September 5th... I just want it to be over but I'm scared.
