Thinking of you, OMB - hang in there!
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

Sending a world of healing thoughts. Maybe very warm water soaks are your best option at the moment to increase blood flow, for good cleansing and localize any infection that may be wanting to develope?

Thankyou all... You really are helping me so much... :thankyou:

As for me.... Well... I finally heard back from mr w after I emailed him the same email I sent last week whilst he was away on leave. He got back to me less than 5 mins later which was great. He said not to worry, 5 weeks is still early in recovery for this type of surgery, and he will try and squeeze me in for an appointment before next month.
I spose it is reassuring to know that yes, it really is still early days, and the type of surgery I had was still an aggressive surgery in a very fragile area.

I have got some more antibiotics, but have held off them for now... I'm doing warm sitz ( thankyou W. spirit) and just seeing if its a blip or developes further.

I would say my pain was around the 7-8 mark at the moment.... I'm praying it starts to turn a corner soon.

:smilyhug: :thanx: :vse:

Hi OMB. I found this link - and admittedly it's only one hospital - but it says do not use ES, only plain water. I would not take the chance before asking. http://www.surgicalassociatesvhc.com/An ... ctions.pdf
