Everyone,
I also wonder if pelvic pain can take years to develop. Reason I sugges this, I have a female friend down the road from where I live. She had rectal surgery about 6 years ago. She developed chronic rectal pain but only in the last year or two which is interesting.
I would have thought any damage from the surgery the pain would have developed much earlier. She also has had plenty of investigations including colonoscopy, MRI of spine and pelvis, etc.
Or perhaps the true cause is not related to our surgeries at all.
For those that are suffering with the burning pain, I would suggest maybe talk to your GP about trialing a nerve pain drug such as amitriptyline. It doesn't completely stop the burning pain at the low dosages I am taking, but it certainly helps to keep the edge off it.
