Thanks guys.

Since the medication is for ibs and not the fissure, I don't feel safe weaning off on my own. I do believe they are helping somewhat - and yes when I tried to stop the amitryptiline before I had such bad stomach pain! Yikes. I wish I didn't need a gastro at all but I really do. From the message it sounds as though he won't see me at all anymore - and I need to be able to have someone I can consult. Even when my ibs was at its best I still had issues and it stopped me from doing things like travelling, eating out, etc. So I think my "normal" could still use some work lol.

I have decided to make an appointment at a wellness clinic, who have psychologists, acupuncture, dietitians, functional medecine doctors, chiros and physios. They are supposed to specialize in treating ibs and do allergy testing also. I'm hoping at least if I can't see a gastro then I may get some help there.

I really think I would feel better if I complained but my mom is saying maybe that it would make it harder to find another doctor, if it's on file for example. So I don't know.

I will be asking for a copy of my file as I get the feeling he has marked me as a difficult patient.

Oh and the sore area is not marked or red at all! It doesn't feel warmer than the area around, just sore and bruised. I am anxious to have it looked at though, it was a little achy in the night.

Anyways. I will keep you guys updated as usual!! In the meantime I'm going to keep pushing myself. Maybe even go shopping!! The luxury lol

Hi Hun I know your in Canada but do you have a patient advice liaison service that can help. In the U.K. It really is a great source of help and when needed can get you seen by different doctors.
I think the wellness clinic is a great idea Hun I wish that I could afford to go somewhere like that but as my IBS started years before I got my insurance last year I can't lol. They seem to have great results and in one of my lectures this year we had a hypnotherapist who stated that she has successfully helped 96% of IBS sufferers who go to see her.
Have fun shopping Hun x

I'll try that mbp! I did call them before and they couldn't help but now things have gotten a little more extreme.

And yes! I've read several studies on the hypnotherapy and they have a psychologist who specializes in it! Really hoping they will have something to help.

Anyways, now I'm getting worried about a possible abcess. My mom felt the area and says it feels like I have one...about a cm she said, and it feels warm. I have no fever or drainiage I can tell, and there is nothing on the outside that is visible, it just feels like a hard area underneath and is really is starting to ache badly.

Of course, my surgeons office is closed Friday and the weekend. So I will try and see my gp today rather than Monday, but I have a feeling I'm going to be back in emergency. It is getting more painful daily.

Now I'm petrified of having another issue. Very very scared they will have to make another incision or I will get a fistula that will plague me. Frigggg

Definitely a hard ball under the skin and more painful today. Managed to reach my surgeon at the hospital between surgeries and she sent me to emergency so I'm there now.

Ugh. I have such horrible luck. If it can go wrong it will with me

Ridiculously fast wait at emergency! Already saw the doctor.

He says it is a an abscess but that it has already begun to drain so there is no need to cut anything hopefully. He is calling my surgeon to consult.

In a gown waiting now. Never had such a quick to emergency...Friday morning 9 am is the time to go lol

Unbelievably, Saturday night at 10:00p.m. worked really well for my son and I once - not a soul there! I'm glad that you were seen so quickly and that the ER doc will let your surgeon know what is going on. And great that he doesn't think that any further action will be required.

Ha yes, funny how that works out! My surgeon says no antibiotics or action now as it is not infected and is draining. She has made an me an appointment to see her next week. I am to just do sitz baths, press on the area to help drain it, and come back to emergency if it stops draining and swells, pain increases significantly or there is sign of infection/fever.

Annoyed but happy it was such an easy visit. Hope this will just clear up quickly on it's own.

So it feels better after pressing on it to cause more drainage.

My question now is - is this a fistula or just an abscess? If it's burst is it likely to go away on it's own?

I really don't know what to think and they didn't give me too much info as I will be seeing my surgeon next week. But I'm getting really anxious not knowing if this will be another long battle or surgery again.
