Oh Lars - I wish I can give you super success example with my case - but you have to remember that I am an exception - I have "super sphincter" unfortunately and also because I am a woman who had 2 babies they assumed that my sphincter must be somewhat relaxed anyway. Well, they were wrong and they did cut too little Image. and that is why I still have some problems. I got a fissure again but I have no spasms this time around and it made a huge difference in itself so I am glad I had LIS anyway. If you look closely you will see that most guys here had no big further problems after LIS regarding fissures , except Eric. It seams that guys have better results but not because they are guys but because doctors , in my opinion, do better (bigger) cuts and really relax that damn muscle correctly. Only 2 weeks after my LIS I was warned by second CRS that my muscle might not be relaxed enough for fissure to heal fully and she was obviously right :( . It did heal but over time my muscle even regained some of its strength and it caused new fissure to appear. Now, if I were you, I would make sure that CRS has in mind the strength and the size of your muscle before he performs LIS if you decide to have one. Also, it is possible to have a second LIS - which I might have in the future Image .
Yes, it is possible to feel completely pain free and than to have complete reversal in a day, Botox or not :(.
Hang in there Lars - I am sure that you will find help because you are actively looking for it and NO it does not mean that you will have this problem for life - some people do , but those are exceptions!
Best of luck with everything Image

Thanks for the kind words :)
Kim: This is the third round of botox I have tried. The other 2 times I have not feelt any different but this time I feelt alot more wider down there instantly. Wider = less pain .) This lasted for 3-4 days. My fissure is almost healed so it must be the spasm or other things who is making me hurt/have discomfort. Maybe the soreness/itch/burn comes from the fissure though...

Yes, Lars. The itching, the burning and I am sure the soreness is all at the actual site of the fissure. Your intuition seems correct.
Stools that are runny or too loose always caused the horrible burning for me.
The itching could be a good sign, it could be the healing itch, but since you are still having problems I would not count on that. But maybe! :)

Kim: What where the spasm pain for you?
Today I`m better and feel less tight down there..Have had 2 BM without little pain/discomfort. This thing is killing me since I don`t find a pattern to it all. The pain can come without I have had an BM.. Does this sound familiar to some off you?

Lars, i am glad things are feeling better today,
That is the joy of a fissure, it gives no warning, and no pattern , my pain was always caused by going for a BM then that pain would last all day at one point !
I assume you are doing all you can for soft BMS ?
Do you take any stool softeners ? maybe this would help i use miralax- movicol it helps bigtime!!!
Hang in there bud !

I think I may have gotten the spasms once or twice without having had a BM. It was hard to localize exactly where the clenching feeling was,it was just like my whole butt was clenching up.
I was upset too when I could not find a pattern to the misery, that is typical of AF.

Lars,
I would also recomment Miralax. We can buy it over the counter here, but it is a trick to regulate the correct amount. Here's to a pain-free butt day for all.

Sorry to hear that you are in pain again but that does seem to be de rigeur for all of us. I hope that the doctor can help you on Saturday and I imagine it isn't anything complicating your healing. Just keep things soft and watch your diet, and see what your options are.

Hang in there!
