Welcome Pinky !
I am so sorry your fissure came from delivery :(
This cannot be an easy time with a new baby !
I hope the LIS means you never suffer this way again, then you can get back to being a happy mummy to your wee babe....
There is a world of information here Image
Goodluck !

Pinky -
I can totally relate to you. It is so hard to take care of a baby while suffering. My son is 19 months and I just now got LIS. It will be nice to have your MIL around to help out with the baby.
Don't let the surgery posts scare you! There are alot of success stories on there. Remember, most people that heal, leave this message board and don't even write back because they heal. So take a look around; There is alot of good information here.
Dairy tends to constipate or harden poo. Some people find it best to saty away from it.
what does your CRS suggest about LIS???

thank you all for making me feel so good.its nice to know someone cares.how r u feeln now jen?i can understand how hard it is with a small baby to look after.thanks for giving me hopes.i was very low yesterday.he blew wind at night n it hurt so bad i had to sit in the sitz bath n then when i got up i had to open my bowels.i just cried n cried n slept at 2am.im a bit positive today.u know how it is with moods.
my crs suggested LIS as my pressure is high n its the best option.he's a very good surgeon n very sympathetic n caring than my previous one who didnt do much n i had to wait for months for something to be done.my surgery is on 15th.counting days.

:( i'm sorry you're having such a bad time, roll on LIS!!

I think that ibruprofen interferes with platelets in the blood which are needed for clotting, so most doctors advise against it several days before surgery. But some doctors might say its ok, there seem to be different opinions. I stopped taking everything on my doctors advise a week before surgery.

That is great your surgery is coming up fast. Just try to keep your stools soft and take care of yourself until then. I think LIS will help you. Your sphincter sounds very tight.

Good luck Pinkey! I am thrilled that you got your surgery date. Now you can really enjoy your baby - with no butt pain involved. Trust me - I know how it is. The last thing you need is a fissure after labor. How come our OB doctors never told us about this??? I had no idea what a fissure even was before!
I am doing well today. Thanks for asking! I had some issues with my incision after surgery and lots of swelling due to a hemmie removal that the doctor did at the same time. I am slowly healing. I am sure you will have zero issues and be better in no time.
Good luck! :)

Pinky :)
What do you eat?
Do you drink a lot of water?
Do you use nitro?
Dou you avoid alcohol, coca cola, etc.?
What is painful for you? BM and/or the rest of the day?
Have you tried to take olive oil, or other oils? (it helps things slide through...)
Do you take a stool softener?
Do you eat fruit/vegetables - enough fibre?
Do you still eat meat?
...lots of questions, but what we eat is very important when having a fissure.....
Take care Pinky Image you will heal finally...

i have tried everything possible to heal my fissure corsica.i changed my diet completely cutting out meat, eggs, chicken, alcohol and all fizzy drinks.i eat brown bread, fruits n veggies and drink atleast 3-4 litres of water everyday.i take movicol as well.i tried nitro but gave me severe headaches so had to stop.i tried diltiazem for 2 months which made no difference.i had botox a month back with EUA where CRS saw 2 fissures which was giving me so much pain.its knife like pain when i pass stools and pains for the rest of the day as i open my bowels 4-6times a day.dont know how to just go once or twice.i eat very less as i have no appetite thinking of pain.my stools r soft but sometimes a bit hard.ive tried everything and nothing is working for me.ive been in continous pain for the last 3months.it started end of jan and would have pain for a week n i wud be fine.it then became painful every 2 weeks and since june im in pain all the time.thanks for ur advice on ibuprofen val.i will find out as my CRS didnt mention anything.hope we all heal soon
