Oh yeah - I do Image . Last night I even took some Metamucil (half of a teaspoon LOL) but than I thought maybe I should take a half of spoon of Benefiber too, just to be on the safe side.I than took one Dervocet before I went to sleep to see if this morning it will be more formed - well - it was not Image . I wish I knew about painkillers not making my strange GI tract not constipated - how much pain I endured in vane Image !!!! Not only that, now I wonder what to do- hmmmmmmm... Maybe I should cut down the total amount of fiber - like take small bowl of Bren Buds and than eat a half of a normal sandwich immediately and see what happens Image I just hope that colonoscopy did not cause some flora disbalance in my guts and now they are SUPER fast Image . (I started taking probiotics too) But , again, I do not have runny BMs , just VERY soft - like play-dough . Some of it stays formed when it hits the water, but last part "disperses" in the water - sorry for so detailed description  . I think I should start eating normal food , I mean food that I used to eat before I got my fissure since I never had constipation issues and stop with all softeners and start with Metamucil - but I will have to do that gradually - after this surgery and so much pain it is so very scary to change anything Image !!! But I have to Image - I will mess up my GI this way - I do not want to get IBS or something else by overstimulating it this way Image . And it is more like mostly 4 times a day now that I eat twice a day - one day it was 5 !!!! Now that I wrote this - it starts to freak me out LOL !!!!! I have to make some changes ASAP !

Bowels are hard to regulate. I am the first to agree on that. Good luck!! I have been using the benefiber lately and hope to continue it while eventually taking less of the Movicol. That is what I am hoping for. The fiber supplements are good for us, but inulin is bad for iBS and that is what I was taking prior to going to Mayos for the first time. No wonder I had so much pain and gas from that fiber supplement (FiberChoice).

Fibresure is inulin - I wonder if that is the same as your Fibrechoice?? I wish they would keep the names the same!! I took it for ages and it worked wonderfully, then just recently it started giving me cramps and gas just like everything else I try!! We're very alike Fissy - never needing any of this stuff before!! It makes me wonder if I'm messing up my insides too!
I like your purple monster avatar!!!

He he, I am glad my "purple guy" is so popular with you girls here LOL - veeery sexy - isn't he LOL ??!!
I agree Val, I wish names are the same. I don't even know what is in Benefiber - will go and check right now Image . I also think that you and me are the only people who never had digestive problems and got fissure and it is even more frustrating since one does not know on what part of "regulation" to work on Image Image . Also, if one is not prone to constipation just a little bit of the softener of any kind makes a BIG difference :flush: . My Mom had IBS for 2 years and I know how debilitating that is , but she did have alternative "runs" and constipation - so what I have now is something else but annoying all the same. I will try to switch to Metamucil completely and try to eat more "constipating" things - I do not know what else to do Image
I can't wait to see Tiger as your avatar in couple of weeks Image
Cheryl - thanks for the information about Inulin - good that you discovered it before it made your situation worse Image

OK - I checked it - Benefiber is Wheat Dextrine - so definitely something different than Metamucil. And it is soluble fiber ONLY . I know that I tried Glucomanan once when BG discovered it and it did not agree with my guts at all - maybe it is same thing going on Image . Well, I guess I will never know unless I try - so I will stop using it and go back to Metamucil and more normal diet and see what happens Image I sure hope a "crack " won't happen Image Image - this is all insane, I swear !!! :hhouse:

I took that Fibre Choice for several years causing lots of gas and then finally cramping. I think our guts are sensitive and all very different. What might work well for one person, might not work at all for another person. Psyllium is supposed to be bad for IBS as well, but I am still taking 1 teaspoon of Metamucil each afternoon. Cheese should help you get constipated if that is what you desire. We all learn more from each other "in the trenches" than from our many docs although they often serve a useful pupose and provide a constant source to where we can continue to send $$$$. You're right about Benefibre, but it also states that it is gluten free.

ha ha ha- yeap - $$$ are always involved - aren't they !!!???
Yeah, it is supposedly gluten free, but still has some gluten and is not recommended for people who are gluten sensitive- so it would not be good choice for Corsi, for example.
I guess I will "chomp" on some string cheese today LOL

Also you could take metamucil with very little water. Maybe that would constipate you.

Ock your poor toosh….Its not easy Image I think you are wise Fissy !
You must eat propley !!! - breakfast, lunch , dinner, and supper, its got to be done , if you have been cutting back , skipping meals ect your digestive will be up the spout and that’s enough to knock us off balance - routine is the key ! food is our medicine !
Take care Fissy Image

Heyyyyyyyy my "Tubbyyyyy" Image - so nice to see you today Image !!!
Yeap - no way around it, it seems - I will have to go back - no matter what Image I ate some Bran Buds and half of beagle with cream cheese and strangely my tummy stopped grumbling and guts calmed down  . I do not remember eating white bread last time - not to mention beagle with cream cheese Image - I now just have to try to see this as good for my tummy and relax and not panic when I do NOT go that 4th time LOL. I think that Colace and Benefiber are the culprit for my digestive disturbances and I will go off them now - just keep your fingers crossed it does not effect my still very sensitive butt Image .
How are you doing buddy - I hope "horrific" (this is for Gremlins) ^&*&#@%^&*(**) ++
