Macy -
I have very slowly healed - very slowly! I now think of myself as about 90-95% healed. My fissure itself is healed. I just have trouble with scar tissue and it staying healed. If it was not for my setback in december, I think I would be very close to being fully healed. In December, I thought I was healed, and got cocky with my diet and stopped taking Benefiber, and a few weeks later, I ripped my fissure. I will never stop taking my Benefiber now.

Tracy, you can check Mebo by Googling. I healed after first LIS in 8 weeks completely, 16 weeks after my second LIS +fissurectomy+2 skin-tags removed+3 inside centennial
piles removed.

Also, can you guys see your fissure? I tried to look last night (oh goodness) but didn't really see anything.....I know it's there somewhere (!) but have never actually seen it.

I can see mine, the tip anyway  In acrobatic mode of course Image
Some fissures can hide themselves well and some a CRS can see just by spreading the buttocks Image

Also, today a new thing--some shooting pains in the rear, once an hour or so and only lasting a few seconds. Any ideas on this??

I take 1 tsp benefiber 3 times a day with each meal. Sometimes I only take it 2 times a day, which is ok too. Cheryl, are you still taking Benefiber too??
I have taken Metamucil, which is good too. I just prefer the benefiber. I am not a fan of citracil (???). It made my BM's really large, but it is different for everyone, that is my opinion.
I can see the tip of my fissure when looking at my bum. Well, it is really just a scar now, but I know exactly where it is. My CRS could see it just by spreading the buttocks, like Tabby said. He needed an anoscope to see the other half of it. I have had the shooting pains you describe too. I have been checked out a million times so it is not an infection. I think it is some sort of spasmsing. I think you should keep an eye on it - make sure you have no discharge. It rarely happens to me, but when it does, I know it is normal for me. I have noticed these pains alot less since LIS.
