Oh Rachael I'm so sorry your feeling this way & I know exactly how you feel as i've been through it all. When I had my 2nd lot of Botox my pain was no where near as bad as before 1st Botox but still bad enough to want rid of it. The 2nd lot did nothing for me I'd say I'd 2 good wks out of 5/6 then went straight for LIS. I was offered a 3rd round of Botox but CRS said we'd be waisting time.
I really hope your pain stops when is your next app? I'd try the 2nd round of Botox it may help you.
Take care & try to relax Image

Thank you Edel, it is good to talk to someone who understands! I am waiting for my next app to come through. Not too long I hope.
Had 3 sitz baths yesterday and applied the Nitro again....
Still stinging this morning, I took 1.5 movicol yesterday, and this seems to have helped. I went out yesterday in the afternoon and walked around my local market, took my mind off my bottom, and I treated myself to some new makeup. Glad I am off work to try and get the damn monster under control again...........

Hey R. Keep up the faith. These things happen, but in my experience, those minor retears heal fast, and we get back on track in a few weeks.
I need to agree that bristol 6 is more fissure friendly. A 4 always had a good chance of doing damage, and since I have kept mine at 5-6, I have had good improvement.
Crossing my fingers for you!
- Fissure developed in Jan '13
- Started rectogesic in Feb '13 and diltiazem Apr '13.
- Got botox Jun '13
- Healed by Okt '13, although I still had some irritation for about a year.
- New fissure April '22, healed June 2022
- New fissure 24. December 2023

Oh Rachael..... I'm so sorry. It's just so upsetting when these fissures get agrivated for no reason. You can just feel your heart sink, and your spirits plummet.
BUT.... Remember, you still have the Botox in there, and if it is indeed a minor re tare, it will start to ease up in a few days or so.
Take it easy... Use this time off work to really chill. Maybe get a massage?? I love them and find they really help to relax me.
Huge hugs

Thanks, J and OMB. I cannot achieve a Bristol 5-6, no matter what I do! Maybe I need to look at the fact I may be having too much fibre?! My CRS told me to keep stool bulky but soft!??? Also if I take too much Movicol I get the runs, so I can't win.
Last night I used a Carlson Vit E Suppository before bed. Now this morning my BM slipped out great, didn't need Vaseline. I forgot that I had these (my basket in the Bathroom is like a pharmacy)! Marg recommended them a while back, and I ordered them from Amazon. No stinging and soreness, so if these work I will use them to try and heal the sucker....

Hi Rachael,
I was finding i was taking far too much fiber too, my stools were huge but soft felt like i was stretching so crs told me to cut back.
I'm glad you got some relief from the suppository just be careful inserting them so you dont upset those monsters.

Angst x 3
Its ok Rachael 1984:
Just get right back up on that horse and keep on breaking him. Chalk the re-tear up to another learning experience. Though now it may appear you did everything to prevent it (your talking to a re-tear recur King, who thought the same) there's always something you can take from this and tweak here or there.
Never lose hope though, we are counting on you to keep going. With this recent setback, now you can be even more determined to win, right. This will ultimately make you stronger and more passionate never to slack off once you get back on the track of healing and recovery.

Aw Rachael,
I've just been catching up on your posts and all I can do, is send you the biggest hug and tell you how much I feel your pain and frustration with all this. Image I'm so sorry and feel your pain........
I'm hoping now that a bit of time has passed, you might be feeling a bit better in yourself??
I got a bit complacent myself recently and incredibly foolishly had one of those moments when nothing was coming out too easily, so I bloody strained! WHAT a prat! I aggravated the scar tissue or something big time and got faint knife stabbing pains. I absolutely scared myself to death and since then, I am back to soft veggies and fruits. I've reduced the quantity of food I was eating...watched my fibre levels to ensure I haven't been overdoing it and upped my water again BIG time. It seems to be OK but I am back in panic mode at the moment and having a BM brings me out in sweats. I keep telling myself it will be OK though...it is torturous though (even when healed, at times)
You are doing all the right things though! Keep your mind distracted, take action and good to get back to your CRS too - if anything, for some reassurance that things aren't that bad.
I can also completely understand why others are recommending a looser stool, but a Bristol 4 is a good stool to have because you have the well-formed but softness that your anal muscles need. I think the only thing you can do, other than monitor your fibre intake, is to perhaps eat lighter meals maybe more frequently? A large evening meal (even fissure-friendly), for e.g. will possibly create a larger stool the following morning.....just some thoughts (that's how it seems to work with me anyway......) Also you could increase your fruit intake of grapes/ pureed apples/ prunes to produce more runny stools but I think I remember you are restricted to certain foods??
Keep up all your positive thinking and sincerely hoping for you, that it's nothing too major and it's just a blip. Don't forget I had a big scare just before I was confirmed healed & these little monsters are sent to test us after all!  x x x x x x

Thank you BT and ETO. Your kind words make me feel better. Unlike the early days, I now feel that I am stronger to keep on fighting these damn monsters! I am eating little but often now, and I have upped the Movicol to 1.5 sachets. ETO, I can have Grapes, but not Prunes(they are high FODMAP). I do have Strawberries,Raspberries,Papaya, Cantaloupe Melon,Banana and Kiwi. I am also having Flaxseed on my porridge oats and drinking 2 litres + of water a day. Have cut the eggs after the Omelette incident. Now today, I have been a bit better, less pain again, and not too bad on BM. I want to get off this roller coaster!! Right now.
Buttastic, you are spot on, tweaking and evaluating what happened before the re-tear is important. I just so want to be healed I would do anything to be rid of the monsters! (Well almost anything). Did you get a lot of minor re-tears? And did you use stool softeners? Thought I remembered you saying you did it with Diet alone!.....
ETO, love the tanks and bombs! Kill em!
