Aw Rachael,
I've just been catching up on your posts and all I can do, is send you the biggest hug and tell you how much I feel your pain and frustration with all this.

I'm so sorry and feel your pain........
I'm hoping now that a bit of time has passed, you might be feeling a bit better in yourself??
I got a bit complacent myself recently and incredibly foolishly had one of those moments when nothing was coming out too easily, so I bloody strained! WHAT a prat! I aggravated the scar tissue or something big time and got faint knife stabbing pains. I absolutely scared myself to death and since then, I am back to soft veggies and fruits. I've reduced the quantity of food I was eating...watched my fibre levels to ensure I haven't been overdoing it and upped my water again BIG time. It seems to be OK but I am back in panic mode at the moment and having a BM brings me out in sweats. I keep telling myself it will be OK though...it is torturous though (even when healed, at times)
You are doing all the right things though! Keep your mind distracted, take action and good to get back to your CRS too - if anything, for some reassurance that things aren't that bad.
I can also completely understand why others are recommending a looser stool, but a Bristol 4 is a good stool to have because you have the well-formed but softness that your anal muscles need. I think the only thing you can do, other than monitor your fibre intake, is to perhaps eat lighter meals maybe more frequently? A large evening meal (even fissure-friendly), for e.g. will possibly create a larger stool the following morning.....just some thoughts (that's how it seems to work with me anyway......) Also you could increase your fruit intake of grapes/ pureed apples/ prunes to produce more runny stools but I think I remember you are restricted to certain foods??
Keep up all your positive thinking and sincerely hoping for you, that it's nothing too major and it's just a blip. Don't forget I had a big scare just before I was confirmed healed & these little monsters are sent to test us after all! x x x x x x
