What do you two use/have for pain? This is just horrible, excruciating pain.

So sorry Rylieghsmama - I have been where you are and absolutely no one deserves the pain you are in. I know you will make it through this hell.

I was taking morphine and then naproxen.

I was told by my doctor it would be ok to take a double dose of aleve (naproxen) that you can buy over the counter and I found it took some of the edge off when things weren't absolutely horrible. Each pill is 250mg, so 500mg at a time was ok.

Can you hop in a hot bath? Does it help at all?

If you're in unbearable pain, maybe try emergency again. I know how awful it is, but maybe you'll get a doctor who is more understanding.

I'm so sorry you're going through this

Right this minute I am just in regular pain. The mornings and through the night is the worse. I am snowed in and can't get anywhere right now. As soon as I can I will purchase Aleve. I am too paranoid to go back to ER. I have severe anxiety and he scared me off.

I totally understand. I believe I actually have ptsd from being in emergency for this, I was back there last week and felt like throwing up immediately, my heart was racing.

Can you try and contact a psychologist who can speak with you over the phone? I know it seems so trivial but it may really help.

Epsom Salts maybe?? to soothe the area or pain old vaseline possible to soothe the area... Quick question, had you seen def improvement from physio? My problem seems to be mainly feeling like the inner sphincter is closed shut or makes you feel like you have to go the bathroom all of the time I suppose this is alittle like the golfball or the need to pass gas feeling due to the tight sphincter if this would release I know I would feel better, it seems that this is th emain problem.. I suppose.. I PTStress and cannot sit down.... ugh..this is ridiculous

Yes mamafizz I felt some improvement after two visits - but have not been able to go again due to whatever icky thing I have now.

The physio will likely be able to at least tell you if you need to see an md specialist or not for the feeling you're having.

I have a sitz bath I use every morning, I have nitro, dilitzepam, coconut oil, peppermint oil and heating pad. I have not had any surgeries yet, but I think that might be what I need. I sleep but wake up a lot and massage it or whatever I can do to get it to settle down. Sorry to complain so much. I have had lots of pain but NEVER like this. You two are so helpful to talk to.

No worries at all - I know how awful this is. It makes you feel so hopeless. Consult with a colorectal surgeon if you can, and check out the success stories section on here - there is a high rate of success for the lateral internal sphincteronomy surgery.

Only other thing I can reccomend is maybe trying some zinc oxide cream - zinco fax or desitin. I didn't put this on all the time, only at night. I would put on nifedipine, wait 20 min, then put on tons of the zinc cream and leave it over night. My gp recommended it to help "seal in" the nifedipine and keep from irritating the fissure site.

Oh and lots of Vaseline right before bm - that also may help!

You know, I don't have hard bm's. Mine is always soft, I have stomach problems. But even that passing by the fissure is THE most excruciating part. I will try the desiring and get some Aleve. Thank you. I will keep you posted after Thursday.
