Yes Happy New Year.. Good to hear from you.. Sometimes when you change your diet your system has a reaction. This happened to me about 2 months in... But it finally resolved by itself, since I could not bear another trip to the doctor. I lost a ton of weight tho. 2 weeks in on botox and the spasms are better, but I still have that higher up tightness like a vice it's there constantly hopefully this will simmer down after a while. I have not been able to sit down for months and months. still painful, Praying this fissure heals and this soreness and discomfort goes away, It has been so long I forget what it feels like not to feel anything back there. Also Hemms I hear can cause tightness and fullness and pulls on muscles up to the tail bone... Sheesh what horrible experience.. Hears to us and Praying for our full recoveries... It 's going to happen soon I read 3 to 9 weeks.... after botox.

Yes just keep on staying positive mamafizz.

That's the thing - no change in diet...I've followed the FODMAP diet to a T for years and have not deviated from it. Actually, I haven't even touched those foods that are ok for me in moderation - so the diarrhea has to be a bug of some sort. If it was just the diarrhea alone I would consider maybe ibs...but not all of these symptoms.

Oh no GG,
That's really not good, hopefully it's something they can treat....buscopan is useless for bad abdominal cramps...never helped me once in all the years doctors prescribed it for me.
I have no idea at all what can cause those symptoms...to be honest some of it does sound like crohns...did you have a biopsy taken of your colon lining?
I really hope this sorts itself out for you, I don't really have any ideas on what to try...I did use CBD oil for a while to help with my IBS and crohns and it did seem to calm it down but my colon adapts quickly and I kept having to take more each day, maybe you could google it and see if it's worth a try for you.
Happy new year Hun and yes here's hoping 2017 is a lot kinder to us all than 2016
Hugs x

Another thought....yes it could be a bug picked up in the hospital....I hate those places and am like an OCD freak and open doors with tissue paper...like there is no way my butt could cope with a hospital bug!! Lol

I know I sound like a broken record, But, do you still have or remember having this granite hard tightness in there, it just never goes away?! sometimes feels higher up.. Not sure if this is part of having a fissure and hems or I have something else.. I can cope better knowing this is part of the process and that it does go away when it's healed...Right now it just doesnt seem like it will ever go away although I know it has to. Seems like the muscle is stuck in tight gear. even though I can use the bathroom but right after that it remains like that. Since there is still pain and discomfort it seems it is not able to relax. So I suppose when the inner spchinter or levators are tight it takes time for them to fully go back to normal.. Maybe Physical therapy will help?! I hate this feeling like something is stuck all the way up there, the only time it is slightly less is some mornings just when waking up but then shortly after starts all over again and gets progressively worse. Like right now.... ugh...

Thanks mpb - I would try the cbd oil but not sure if I can get it right now in Canada - maybe in a few months lol.

I have an MRI on the 25th to confirm the results of the colonoscopy which were clear - I don't know if they did a biopsy but there was 0 inflammation - the gastro was sure there was no chron's. My ibs was very very under control before this. And the gas is unreal - like you could never imagine, I don't understand where it's all coming from. Really am hoping it's a bug but will be talking to the new GI soon about other possibilities.

I ended up phoning about 7 gastro offices near me to try and get an appointment (since my gastro CANNOT despite my begging see me until march). Finally someone picked up - one of the better doctors around - and it was actually him on the phone (he was in his office doing paperwork over the holidays - what luck). He talked with me for 45 min! About all my troubles, and asked me lots about how this is affecting my life. And said he would get me in his office asap. Compared to my other GI (who is a good doctor, but NEVER available) this guy is an angel.

Yes mamafizz I did have that feeling for a long time, but it did eventually go away. It may be internal hems causing pressure, and then the muscles tightening in response too. YES I think physio would help!!!! Even if you cannot do an anal exam, they are able to get at quite a few of the higher up muscles through the vagina. I found that I was much more relaxed after just a couple sessions. Try it out - make sure you see a pelvic floor specialist!

Oh sounds good, I am sure that gassy discomfort will come to an end soon, My daughter had that one time and it was a type of intenstinal virus and they could not give Anti Biotics for it she was always getting YEAST INFECTIONS FROM taking too many. Sometimes the actual antibiotic causes those symptoms as well. So it did resolve on its own. But took a long while. Also Yes I will def contact a pelvic floor specialist there is one in our area and I need some relief... This anatomy is confusing.. So many different symptoms, I am sure I have pelvic floor dysfunction after having 6 children including twins.. And now with menopause I have no estrogen left so harder to heal as well.

Mamafizz - a good physio will be able to help you. I have pelvic floor dysfunction - and even with fissures/scar tissue etc my physio said she has dealt with much worse - like botched jobs after tearing during birth etc. It is SO complicated - I know, but that is why a specialist is the way to go!

Thank Goodness.. I am trying to get a referral, we do have a really good Pelvic Floor Specialist in our area. I am trying to get a referral to see her. I was hoping the fissure would heal and then I would not have to go but it will probably help things along and relaxing and retraining these crazy charlie horse knots up there to calm the heck down and I have read that the muscle gets thick and pulls up so I am sure that is part of what I feel and I am sure the adhesions/etc from the cut has created alot of this. Right. so complicated... I have such a full life and have not been able to participate in anything.. for the last 5 months at lease.. New Year ... New Start... Healing and well being for us all.. Thanks Much keep us posted.
