Gg For what it is worth , I can give you the email and contact of the CRS specialist that is one of the top in the United States, He does a phone consulation and he helped tremendously with just calming fears and listening and reassurance. I seemed to get so much better just after speaking to him. If you email him, he may answer, it's worth a try. Scientist on the forum and a few others also mentioned him as well. Sometimes speaking rather than going into another Doctor office or hospital is better on your nerves. Here is his email and contact info:

Info@DavidRosenfeldMD and his David B. Rosenfeld, MD, FACS, FASCRS.
341 South Moorpark Road
Thousand Oaks, CA 91361

Office: (805) 230-BUTZ (2889)

Hi Gilmore Girl, I haven't followed your journey much but I happened upon your posts and just wanted to say I'm so sorry you are in this much pain. My stomach was turning as I read about your harrowing experience, so I can't imagine what it's like to actually go through this. I've been through a very traumatic accident long ago and resulting operation myself, and though the pain seems endless, remember that it will end. If you need medical attention, demand it. Don't let anyone tell you it's not a big deal or it's all in your head. I am thinking of you, and hoping that you will get through this very soon.

Thanks so much for that info mamafizz. I will give an email a try. I really appreciate it

Patience and healing thanks for the mind words. I really hope this ends soon. Hopefully all this pain will end well and give me my life back.

Currently up at 1:00 am with diarrhea. Some more solid this time but still with waves of nausea and extreme urgency. I'm not even going to try and go back to sleep I can feel my stomach rumbling again already. Took a gravol so hopefully the nausea will stop.

I'm really nervous about this diarrhea, I don't seem to have a fever, so it's probably not a bug or C Diff right? Maybe my system just didn't like not going for so many days...I've had loose stool for a while but have only had this extreme urgency once before when I had the stomach flu. I can't wait until Monday when I can phone the surgeons office. I want to take an immodium but I feel that it may do more harm in the end than good.

I'm tired of my own complaining but this is just too much for me to stay positive.

Can you get yourself to an emergency care place where they can test for Cdiff? I don't want you to get too anxious that that's what it may be, but always best to get watery diarrhea tested. The test shouldn't take more than a couple of days to give results. Make sure they are not just testing for toxins, that's not an accurate test. And you'll need to put the sample in the freezer if you can't get it back to them immediately.

Thanks yes I may have to do that. If things get too bad I will go to emergency tomorrow, otherwise I'll ask the surgeon's nurse on Monday - maybe avoid a trip to emergency. I really hope I don't have it, that would just be the last straw. The nausea is bad also but I think it's from the meds. I'm in a vicious cycle where the meds make me too nauseous to eat and then taking them without food makes me even more nauseous.

I really appreciate your responses, I'm feeling really alone and scared

You are definitely not alone! I'm in a different time zone and will be asleep soon, but I am thinking of you and praying you will be past this soon. I know that we all have to walk our painful paths by ourselves, but having help and guidance along the way makes it much more bearable

Is there an on call doctor you can talk to at your surgeon's office? They might be able to help you.

And have you tried smoothies instead of solid food? You can sip on them slowly and get nutrients instead of having to sit with a plate of food. A meal supplement in the form of a drink would work in a similar manner.

Hunii I'm so so sorry that your having to experience this. I know how bad going like that and that often can be especially straight after LIS.
I agree with MF and PH either email someone, phone or go into somewhere. You need to get a handle on the diarrhoea it's horrendous for the incision and the fissure. I know the meds make you feel sick but is there any way you could have some dry toast...something to soak up some of the liquid in there. I agree I would leave the Imodium for now but it's always there as an option if the D doesn't calm down.
Please talk to a doc even if they just offer reassurance, you know how much pain your in if you have to then be quiet firm and tell your parents you need to go. Your not eating your vomiting and you have diarrhoea your body will be totally out of balance let alone the pain your in.
Big hugs please take care x

GG, Your probably right, the combo is really tricky with those meds &throwing you for a loop. Didn't you have something a little while back like this from the morphine? They told you your system was very sensitive to meds etc.? Maybe that is triggering in your system again, along with whatever they gave you in the hospital. My son had his appendix out when he was 24 and he had all kinds of symptoms from the meds like this for about a week, so probably not that unusual. Honestly try not to be scared it will get better... You know your system better than anyone, call email contact the doctors do all you have to do to feel more calm so your nervous system can recover it works along with your bowels. Our bodies are tougher than we know, it can recover. Sometimes the emotional part wreaks alittle more havoc from all of the worry & adds to it. Please remember you will get through this, you've come so far... Keep going.... prayers all day for you..:)

Thanks guys. I haven't had D since about 2 am so I'm hoping today will be a little easier, but I'm still expecting it to hit at any moment. I'll see how today goes and try and sleep and call the surgeon tomorrow - can't reach anyone on the weekend. I wish they had given me a number to call. The pain is managed ok with morphine now as long as I don't have to go a bunch of times.

I took your advice mbp and choked down some ginger cookies this morning with the meds and the nausea seems a little less. I'm also taking gravol consistently. Patience and healing - I've pretty much been living off of ensure drinks since Tuesday - couldn't get anything else down.

I'm just looking forward to talking to the nurse tomorrow - I need to find out if this tightness is normal. What was the point of the surgery if things are tighter than before.

Thanks again guys, this is not a great time and I appreciate your help through it

Fingers crossed you have a better day Hun the D will slow down eventually. Glad you managed some cookies and ginger is great for an upset tummy as I'm sure you know.
The tightness will pass Hun I'm sure...that area can just react so strongly to the trauma of an op. It will loosen up soon.
Hoping you manage to rest today and get some reassurance from your docs tomorrow.
Thinking of you
