none of my drs has ever mentioned this ointment. why can't they all learn the same stuff and that way we won't have to rely on the internet for advice?! it's so frustrating and disheartening to have no trust in drs anymore.
lars - keep us posted how it goes!

That might be good to use after irritation from diarhea when the Diltiazem ointment isn't really needed. Image

Hi Lars,
I have had great luck with a slurry of slippery elm bark for the burning anus/rectum. It is good for sore throats and other inflamed mucous membranes.

Hi all
I have not been around lately so sorry for the late reply. The pain is gone but I still suffer with the burning and itch after a BM. I have a hard time getting rid of the irritation in my anus. Sometimes it bleeds a little after a bm but it doesn`t seen to make things worse. Today I ran for about 40 minutes. First time in 1,5 years :)
Before each bm I am using a water enema to flush the bm out completly. It`s the bm that makes the area irritated because in the morning I am fine. This helps with the burning about 30-40% almost everytime. Does anyone think is bad for my anus or colon to use water enema each day?
I try to make the best of the good days since I still have a lot of bad ones but I am much better than I was before LIS. Thanks all for asking :)
