Well, if you have spasms, after the fissure heals the nerves and muscles are very hypersensitive and the sphincter muscles are all connected and there can be some levator tenderness which the specialist says can take approx 2-6 months to gradually go away completely. If is a very slow process in this area.

Thanks for that I've had 1bm each day for the last two days with half the normal pain then no pain after just an achy muscle feeling an the odd twitch sometimes when I sit I'm using a baby bum cream it's more a multi purpose cream for everything really its gold ingredient is calendula a speeding skin repairer an not over eating heaps of water an taking lax sachets same as movecol an miralax I believe. What is up with this muscle pain? Maybe it's a spasm/ tighting

How long till your appointment?
And how long have you had your fissure? I've probably already asked you.

MM and FV, sorry to hear of your struggles but I will share that I had my fissure for 5 months and then had botox, it healed the fissure in about a month. it is now about 4 months later and still doing well regarding fissure, The tight muscles can feel like there is something in there and a higher up near the tailbone dull ache constant this can be from the nerves and muscles being so tense for so long from the injury. Are either of you dealing with a chronic muscle issue? or a knotted feeling symptom?

Fv yes sounds about right!, Pretty standard I used nito ointment for a few months but just couldnt get totally better so I opted for the botox, which has totally helped. It will take a while until all of the symptoms to disappear after the fissure heals. I read about a woman abigail steidley who had a fissure and nursed without pain meds she is a healer pelvic floor coach she has lots of free info online. let me know I can send the link...prayers and healing your way
