Thanks guys, i'm so hoping so! It's been a strange weekend as it's the first weekend I have gone out for a meal...twice! The first time was a chinese buffet so I just had prawns, some soft chicken and lots of veggies. I also had a small bit of egg foo young but was a bit scared to eat it so I covered it in veggies and just had a bit. Tonight I went out with my lovely husband and we had mediterannean, I phoned ahead and they got sweet potato in for me which was very nice of them, so I had mushroom to start and then chicken with veggies and sweet potato, but I was still too scared to eat all the chicken. I also had a few vodkas and orange juice but when I got home I had lots of water. The thing I miss most is bread, I would give anything for a slice of toast but NOTHING is worth the pain. Also they had fresh garlic bread and pizza on the menu which I would have died for. My other half didn't have it either bless him (and he normally would) he didn't say anything but I think he didn't want to eat it in front of me...probably for fear I might leap over the table and demolish it lol. I wonder when I will eat 'normally' again, probably never. I will probably never had bread or any carbs again, which is so strange, but at the moment I am purely concentrating on healing, that's more important than food.

Hmm SS, doesn't sound good... Did you feel a sting at the fissure site while going?

I never had any luck with painkillers, they simply didn't work for me. Do they work well for you, and what kind are you taking?

I know :-( Yes I felt a sting at the fissure site when going, I pretty much always do :-( and while I am wiping myself clean, it only goes once that has been done and I've had a sitz. I take anadin extra which is amazing and it works, I had loads of prescription medicine but nothing worked as well as it.

Keep fighting SS!

Even with this recent retear, you still have botox protecting your butt for a couple of months.
Hopefully the soreness will turn into just irritation soon.

Hi sugarspice

While JHH must be thinking this is deja vu all over again, I could not
help but notice when you mentioned...

and while I am wiping myself clean,
.

So I was wondering what you use to wipe and if its actually a sweeping
wipe motion or a more gentler dabbing type wipe, which can sure
reduce the stinging and burning afterwards. If at home after a bm
many will forego wiping totally and just hop in the shower to clean up.

BTW, I was saying the same thing with the bread, I love it too, but those
sub sandwiches along with too many whole wheat slices were giving me rock
hard stools.

It was only when I drastically cut back to a few slices per week and about one per
one meal/day that my recurring fissures vanished. Yeah, but as you say during your actual
battles I did not touch bread.

GL to you, you seem to be doing ok with the botox.
