Thank you msimon! Well, I had some good news at the CRS appointment today. Nothing has really changed but he feels that I just need a 2nd LIS, that not enough was cut the first time. He said I have a very thick sphincter and although it is always a judgement call when the doctor is in there and it is good to go conservative the first time, I needed a little more cut. He said he has been doing this for a very long time, and he can tell by looking in his patients eyes how they are doing and where they are at and how much they are suffering from these and when they have had enough. I thought that was a sensitive thing to say. He said he will also freshen up the edges of the fissures when he does the LIS. So... first we are going to do a colonoscopy on January 17 because of my family history of colon CA and an EUA - exam under anesthetic - just to make sure nothing else has to be done. If nothing else needs to be done we will go ahead and schedule the 2nd LIS. He said it is best to do as little as possible and that he knows the outcomes I want and will obtain those for me. So overall I am feeling pretty hopeful. He thinks my stenosis is manageable after my fissures heal. Love those words "after my fissures heal"!!!
