That's good. I was convinced with all my pinches and burns and strange sensations that it wasn't all good. But my doctor insists its the Botox journey - she reminded me that it takes 3 months to heal and I am still at week 7/8 ish. I think you have half recovery phase ahead of you and it's really a different reac dry process with LIS. There is a lot of info here but I must say my LIS journeys were so easy and fast in terms of recovery. Yours will be too. Glad you are finding foods that work

Thanks HTD,
well just been for another BM really hoping that's it for today although my IBS hasn't played up for 10 days so am probably due a bad day just hoping it's not too bad.
I don't think I'm worried about the LIS as that was what I wanted at first but was advised...told...to have the Botox first by two different surgeons. I am so much better than I was that it's only days when my IBD plays up that's I get proper pain where before it was every day. I know I can never have some foods again and have resigned myself to that and truly believe if I had cut those out earlier I probably wouldn't have got my fissures although my surgeon says because if my very high sphincter pressure I probably would have...told him I had delivered 2 big babies he was like oh your sphincter will probably be a 3 max 4, did the test errrr it's a very high 5 lol

Well pain after the second BM never got higher than a 4 which was great as it normally jumps straight to a 5 or 6. Thankfully didn't go again. So yesterday was my first day in over 10 months where I managed to have 2 BMs and carry on as normal with just a bit of pain. I truly believe that if my colon decides to work with me on this then the Botox will heal me enough to make LIS an option.
Lazy day today so should be able to get all the creams on as often as I'm meant to.

That's good news MPB. Sounds like the IBS can't bother the fissure too much. The hardest part is sticking to a routine and diet restrictions ( self imposed that work for you) when you are better. Keep up the good work and while you allow yourself a few slips here and there stay conscious of the healing. You are making good progress.

My IBS has been good for nearly a fortnight now, although I can feel my tummy is a bit upset today so am deciding whether to take some loperamide as a precaution or just wait and see what happens. It's nothing I have eaten just think it's my colon and that it will always be this way.
Just wish it wasn't such a guessing game
Will def be going to the toilet later today fingers crossed not too much

Yes it's definitely maddening. It's like walking a tight rope for most of the day. Here is to your IBS listening to you for many weeks to come .
Doing good MPB - hang in there friend.

Ok my IBS played nice yesterday and although I had cramps I didn't need the toilet again. But I think a back massage may have irritated my fissure....my lower back occasionally goes into spasm so I rubbed it a bit and got quite near my coccyx, well I have had stinging and itching since from my fissure, I didn't rub too hard or too long but the fissure is certainly not happy....been stinging all night. It's so annoying that something as simple as a back rub could set the thing off again....on a positive note there was no pain or stinging after my BM so that was good...am plainly going to have to put up with the back pain as the fissure doesn't like anything else getting my attention...it's like a naughty spoilt two year old.

Ahh u poor thing. Why not try a lidocaine patch for the back? That way it's not a massage that can disturb the sphincter muscles or whatever. Who would have thought back massages are off limits. The weirdest thing seem to bother my fissure dearest too. Good that there was no pain after a BM. That's definitely a positive. Between "stinging" " painful" "irritation" "burning" I am never sure what adjective to give the sensations. I use them loosely but to me stinging is progress compared to the pain you had a couple days ago. Keep smiling :)

Well thankfully the stinging did stop managed to get to the gym yesterday, was in very little pain.
Just had a rather large (for me) BM Bristol 3 my hardest for a long time...have put the GTN up there so will see what the day brings...
My back has improved a lot...think my body knows that it has to focus on the fissure lol
Yes I'm grateful I have had no real pain for a while just hoping this last BM doesn't trigger something, it's like walking on the edge if a chasm and one wrong step can see you in the abyss....well that's a nice cheery note to end on lol

I am glad that pain is better almost negligible and you are making it to the gym more often. I stick to slow yogas - but plan to get back into running later this year. I am proud of you for trying different foods, hopefully your list of friendly foods is growing. Since you don't have an appointment with CRS till September I can't guess how much you have healed but I think and hope there is a pleasant surprise in store.
Hugs
