I had some today, not that it seemed to do anything. I think I'll continue with it. 6 weeks today since the tear :)
I'm now of the opinion that a huge part of the problem with fissures is the psychological side. Being relaxed is what it's all about, especially in the morning before a BM. I felt more tense this morning due to a strange sensation the day before... this was not a good start to the day, although no damage was done.

You are welcome Sam.
Day 23 on nitro
Had an awfull night, only 3-4 hours of sleep. BM also caused a little pain today, even with perfect consistency. I hope I didn't make the fissure angry :-(
Will update later!

6 weeks? Did you start nitro immediately?
I think you are right about the mind and body connection. Stressing about it will not help you heal.
I got my fissure in the end of january, so I guess mine is also about 6 weeks old. I just wasted a few weeks assuming it was a hem :-(

Yes, I started Nitro on day 1 of the 'big tear'. I think I already has a fissure, just nowhere near as big.

Update on day 23 on nitro..
Today was much like the last couple of days. BM with great consistency, and only little pain. Then about an hour later it starts to burn an prickle. Nothing serious, maybe 3/10 on the pain scale, and after a few hours it lingers off. I only feel spasms slightly, which is a good sign.
Either Im healing, or Im in less pain cause of my effort to get perfect fissure friendly stools. For 10 days stools has been soft and loose.
Now is also around the 6 weeks mark, from when I got the fissure. I guess that makes it cronic. That could also be the reason its less painful...
Oh well, at least I seem to be out of the days with endless spasms :)

Day 24 on nitro
Not much to report. Today was yet another copy of yesterday. Was at the dentist, which was a 45 min drive each way, and I managed the drive quite OK.
Oh well, I guess healing takes time...
