I'm so pleased it went ok and he's prepared to check things thoroughly before jumping to surgery.
If your pressure turns out low ( like mine) the option will be flap surgery not LIS. If its high it will be LIS ( providing the ultrasound shows you have a big enough muscle to cut into without leaving you incontinent.)

Hang on in there, fingers crossed your appointments won't take too long to come through!

Hi Rachael
I rarely post now but I would like to endorse what OMB says. I'm sorry to hear you are still in so much distress but it is good you have found such a thorough CRS. I was told I had a small acute fissure just before Christmas. So that must have been new. But it healed up quickly and I have been symptom free since. It has now been a year and seven months for me too. So please don't give up hope. It will get better one way or another.

Hi Allan, yes, I think it is good that he's checking thoroughly first, I don't want to be incontinent. :thanx:

I am having a bad day! I'm in pain again! A faster than normal BM has resulted in never ending pain. No pain on BM, just horrible spasms and all day pain. After lying in bed for most of the morning, I'm now crying on the sofa. Just want to give up. I hope my appointment for the tests comes through soon. I had a few days where everything seemed to be settling down, now this again. I hate you monsters.

You are most definitely not alone!

I'm doing ok. So nervous about my surgery on the 28th. I saw my cousin today, the one who had this surgery 2 years ago, and he is doing so well and was trying to reassure me but I'm still so nervous. I just want this to be over. I just am praying I'm not trading one problem for another (incontinence).

If I could only turn back the clock to before this happened!

Are you feeling any better?

Hi,
I bet you're nervous,it's only natural.... That's what scares me the most, the risk of incontinence. If I don't have high resting pressure though, don't think the CRS will do LIS. Glad to hear your cousin has done so well, I'm sure you will too. So the surgery is next Monday. Keep me posted on how you are. Praying for you, and sending my best wishes for the surgery. Xxx
I am still sore today, using Nitro to try and kill the pain. I have lidocaine, but I'm scared of it thinning my skin, so good old Nitro at the moment. I'm back at work tomorrow after the Easter holiday, so I'm trying to calm it down (again). Sigh.

Rachel, any chance you could be evaluated for pelvic floor dysfunction?, it sounds like your spasms are coming from the pelvic region in general but they can FEEL like anal spasms due to that being where the trauma was. If you have absolutely no pain on bm but and if you have no sign of a fissure, but youre still plagued by spasm you may have levator ani syndrome or pelvic floor dysfunction.... So many times i thought i retore but couldnt see anything... Turned out the spasms can cause sharp needle like pains in the anus.....
I have faith in you always, i love you like my own son or daughter, when you hurt, i hurt. Let us all be each others guiding light, and heal without anxiety :) Much love to all.

Hi Have Faith,
I will ask about Pelvic floor dysfunction.... I'm not too sure what to think. It definitely feels like I have fissures. I do feel glass feeling on some BMs, but not all. When I apply the Nitro, it really stings and is so uncomfortable to sit. All of the signs of active Fissures. I'm am convinced I'm re-tearing, but when I visit the CRS it's typical they are not active. Now I've had all of the creams, Botox, diet changes etc I just want an answer to this hell. I'm just waiting for my tests to come through. After nearly 2 years of pain on and off I've just about had enough! How are you? Xx
