Hi George, I tend to tighten up the area a lot too, it seems to be my natural response to everything! :[ Not good for healing fissures.
Anyway I decided that even after I heal I'll be trying to dilate a bit just so my bum doesn't go back to being too tight for pooping! Image
As for today's log... I still ate the same kind of food--only chicken, tons of veggies (carrots and broccoli) and some brown rice. Had prunes, lots of water, yogurt... and stiiiiiill I can't poop. I'm getting frustrated because part of me is telling me that if I DO go it will be massive and I'll be torn again. So I started doing coconut oil suppositories.. just to soften stuff a little.
So like I said I still haven't been able to do a full BM. When I did manage to go to the toilet today it was odd. Some of my #2 just went out and went 'plop' while some of it just wanted to stay there... I know I'm not supposed to but I had to push a little just so I could finish up down there. It's weird cause today's BM was like 5 little pieces, I think I'm starting to turn into a bunny. Sorry for the TMI. :S

Hi Rachael, thank you! I do eat a TON of papaya, but until now still nothing.
I'm 3 days post-surgery and still no full BM. I tried going this morning when I woke up but then I only passed 2 tiny little things and still I felt a stretch and I even felt my anterior fissure. Not a lot of pain but I was acutely aware of it. I just don't know if I don't have enough poop or what--I can't imagine that would be it as I've been eating so much.
Short of taking a laxative I don't know what else to do. I've already been pacing to see if the movement could get things going but nothing. So now I'm trying a heating pad to see if the warmth will help to relax my sphincter.
HELP!!! It's been 3 days and it's making me anxious. All I can think about is the longer my body waits to poop the bigger and harder it's going to be! Omg. NOOOOO!

Do enema with warm water, about 150 ml.
Wait for 20 mins, walk around and go to poo. You will make it easy, and anxiety will disappear.
I glad I helped you. :)

Hi torn,
I'd be very anxious too I noticed you haven't been taking any stool softeners?? Would you not try some just to get you started. I eat very healthy too makes no difference I just can't go without the help of a stool softener.
You seem to be doing so well I hope you continue.
Take care 😊

Hi Igrik thank you for the suggestion! I think I will try this when I am really having too much trouble going.
And hi Edel! Yes I was anxious about that, I haven't been taking any stool softeners and it had been worrying me to death, but to counteract that I've been drinking MORE MORE MORE water and eating a ton of food with both soluble and insoluble fiber.
AND OH MY GOODNESS, just now I finally was able to do a full BM!!! I am so ecstatic! At first I thought I was going to re-tear since I was acutely aware of my old fissure and could feel it stretching, but then all sensation from it was gone and instead all I could feel was the bruised, stretchy feeling where the incision site/stitches are. I am so happy I can't even... YES I hopped onto the forum immediately after my BM because I am just so happy about it! Haha. I feel a little silly now but hey~ ImageImage
I really hope that things continue along the same vein. Today in a fit of panic I actually texted my CSR (bless the man he gave me his personal number) and he told me to keep on keepin on and to stop worrying too much about the pain. He said it'll be tough the first couple weeks. Not very helpful but what do you know!
Thank you so much to everyone for all the love and support, the short time that I have been on this forum has been such a blessing! I don't know what I would have done without the AF forum. :grouphugs:Big hugs for everybody!

I am so glad LIS helped you and you have noticed it since the first normal loo visit! That is really amazing! Keep going, but don't forget pain you had, and remember when fissure will heal it takes up to 1 year to get 80% of strength. Don't allow yourself to retire, and keep good BM habbits for rest of your life.
As we discussed in another thread, you feel much loosen now? What about BM size, I suppose it was also bigger.
PS: Torninhell, can you share your CRS contact in PM if you are UK citizen. I am still thinking about botox vs LIS.

Hi Igrik! Thank you! :)Also for the advice thank you. :)I don't plan on forgetting my pain any time soon. I'm definitely going to maintain healthy lifestyle for the rest of my life, I don't want another "reminder" (fissure)!
I don't feel LOOSE, but I do feel looser than I was before. Before I couldn't even put my pinky finger inside to apply creams. Now I think I can if I tried (don't want to yet, still sore from LIS). Also for BM size it was actually normal I guess.. Before with my fissure I have actually had bigger BMs. If I can keep my BMs like this (soft, normal size) forever I will be happy.
Unfortunately I do not live in UK, I live in the Philippines. :(But my clinic is this: http://www.colonandrectalspecialists.com/ They are the only CRS I can find in my country... but I am sure there are more. But I went to this clinic anyway because they are in one of the best hospitals in my country :)

Not much of an update today, except to say that I think I ate too much bad food. :( I hope I don't end up paying for it tomorrow.
Anyway today I had a huge BM, half a Bristol 3 half a Bristol 6! I think I had way too much fiber yesterday, so lessened a bit today. In any case we'll see how it goes tomorrow. :)
I'm so happy that despite the huge BM there was only a very slight pain--at first when my BM was starting then the rest was just a soreness from the incision site.
LIS is starting to look like the one of the best decisions I've ever made.
