Day 29
A little pain from the fissure during BM, and slight pain after for some hours. BM was soft and a little formed. I sound like a broken record...
- Fissure developed in Jan '13
- Started rectogesic in Feb '13 and diltiazem Apr '13.
- Got botox Jun '13
- Healed by Okt '13, although I still had some irritation for about a year.
- New fissure April '22, healed June 2022
- New fissure 24. December 2023

JHH - Better than the razor blade pain ANY DAY!
It might be hard work living this way, but I'd take this for the rest of my life than worrying about my next toilet visit.
My pain threshold has shifted massively in the past 4 years. Stubbed toe? PAH... Paper cut? Pffff!
Keep up the good work.

Yeah, I know, but even with pain 2-3/10 its still anooying, and Im always thinking about my butt, and the next BM.
YES, pain has gotten a whole new meaning. I put a scalpel in my palm a week ago. Hardly noticed the pain... Its pretty much healed now btw. I just wish my broken ass would heal this fast.

Yeah, progress is soooo slow I cant believe it, but the thing is that 4 days after botox I was pretty much painfree for a week. I just want to get to that point again!
The lactulose is helping, but not enough to have consistent bristol 6. Im taking the max dose 30ml. Besides that I take psyllium husk and magnesium.

Have you tried liquid paraffin? A couple of board members have used this and say it just makes things slip out?

Well, its not that it doesnt slip out, cause it does. Its usually a two minute job, but even a soft easy passable bristol 4 gives me problems. I need my BM to be like cowpad, and the only thing that really helped was movicol, but that makes me sick :(

There is another analogue of Movicol I am using - Forlax the name of it in my country.
The active ingredient is Macrogol, research on the subject, probably you will be able to find some alternative

Hi JHH,
Maybe you could try something else. It might take a while to find what suits you. I am applying the nitro still before my BM and using Vaseline too. This really helps, and the nitro mixed with the Botox is super powered! Maybe try it. Hope you can heal.
Hem Banding sept 2012

Dunno. Right now Im trying different doses to optimize what Im taking. Im also still on nitro and diltiazem, allthough I doubt if anything works for me.
Day 30
BM was bristol 5, and was without pain. YES!
Then I had slight pain for about an hour, and then just some irritation rest of the day. Happy days...
