Hi JHH,
I am about to get botox, and just wonder if you have feeling of loosen sphincter?
Or you think it is the same tight? Is BM flowing easier or not?

Hey igrik
Honestly, I feel just as tight as before. Having BM feels the same. However, since botox my pain has changed. No more burning, just a dull shooting pain instead. Most on my right side, and feels further in.
Not sure what to conclude, but I do not regret having botox. I have an appointment in august, and if Im not healing, I will ask for LIS.
Hope this helps, and good luck with the botox!

Again a good soft BM with only slight pain. Still a little pain and some irritation in the following hours, but not much.

Hi JHH,
Thank you for honest answer. I hope you heal till August, and will not require any surgery, but if you will. Don't be afraid, we should get our lifes back.
I still cannot decide regarding botox or LIS, or give it time with nitro. We don't have competent CSR in country, so I should rely on my experience and knowledge now. They all are old school and high opinion of themselves :)
I found one doing botox, will meet him on Thursday, should decide by this time, whenever to do botox or not. It is not easy decision as now I meet some relief visiting BM with enema and pain control afterwards.

I would try botox before LIS. Botox is really nothing, and there are no permanent sideeffects. All you have to loose is a couple of months, and you get a 50/50 chance of healing.

Is it normal to be put out for botox? My CRS says I just pop into his office, he'll give me the shots right there and I'll be out in 15min.

notmuchfun, I wasn't put out for the Botox and it wasn't bad at all. It really was what it is: getting a shot in the butt. I got really scared right before the injection because everything was already really sore down there anyway, but the pain from the injection lasted for a brief second and then was gone.
igrik, I would really recommend Botox before the LIS. One of the reasons my surgeon did not feel LIS was right for me (I had an advancement flap 7 weeks ago) is because of how my body reacted to the Botox. I had difficulty controlling gas after the Botox (it was nothing that caused embarrassment as I could feel them coming on or they would "slip out" while I was walking), and my CRS felt that that would be indicative that I might have some trouble with controlling gas after getting LIS (he thought it was unlikely, but was still a concern). So, I would say go for the Botox because it could be a preview of what might happen after an LIS.
