Week 11
No pain on BM(Knock on lots of wood) some irritation afterwards, but bathing helps this.I am now applying the Nitro about 1 hour prior to BM, then using vaseline to lubricate before BM. Still keeping to FODMAP plan, really having major improvement with my IBS symptoms. Overslept this morning and was nearly late for work... Kept calm and didn't rush, as this could have been a major problem for my bottom.... Feel quite good today.

Hi Rachael,
Glad to see you are doing good most days. I noticed on another thread that you suffered with chronic constipation. I am the same i just cant go if i dont take movicol which is a life saver. a couple of questions if you dont mind
1. you say your on the fodmap diet do you find this helps with constipation or do you still get constipated sometimes?
2. do you take stool softeners?
Hope you dont mind me jumping in here.
Also thanks so much for the sitz bath link it really is the best thing i have bought in ages getting lots of use.

Hi edel,
Hope that you are doing okay after the LIS.The FODMAP plan has been a lifesaver for me. I seem to be having a major improvement, no constipation, no straining either. I think the Botox and the Diet together have helped.I still take Movicol, which is great, but at one point i was taking 2 a day. Now i am down to one in the evening.I am so scared to come off the Movicol.I think that cutting Wheat and Gluten has really helped. I don't get bloated and uncomfortable after eating now, and the symptoms have subsided. I have been on the FODMAP for 9 weeks, and after seeing my Dietician last week, i now need to re-introduce items from each food group so i can pinpoint my triggers and avoid them for good. Because i feel great, idon't want to re-introduce!! Suppose i won't know the culprits unless i do, but i don't want to mess up my BM'S! So glad that you like the Sitz. I love your Avatar! Cute

Thanks Rachael,
I must look into that diet. I take 2 movicol a day & a couple of times a wk I add in lactulose just in case. I'm doing great after LIS thanks, not much pain just very sore & stingy. Stitches feel very tight I'm hoping another wk that will fade.
I hope when you start to introduce food you don't have to much bother its a bit scary though 😁.
My avatar is one of my baby's very cute he is 😊
Your avatar reminds me of a horror film can't remember the name lol
Thanks again x

Thank you OMB, I am glad that it is giving you some encouragement and hope! I wish I had a lovely big magic wand that I could wave and everyone on here would heal.
I have had another good day, no pain on first BM, although I had a second BM later, this wasn't as bad as it has been of late, no pain but just a little uncomfortable. The damn second one is always worrying! Thankfully this isn't every day. Fingers crossed.
