Glad your pain was lower today,
Oh yes I think once you have experienced the 12out of 10 agony that is spasms on a daily basis for hours at a time then we are grateful when our pain is below a 5.
Like you my heart goes out to those suffering with spasms and my wish for us all is to never have to go there again.
Wishing you a good and pain free day take care

Thanks much . Still tryin my brown rice and lentil soup and veggies and fruits. Adding olive oil to the rice to add a little calories ( have lost more than 15 pounds since this started) and for the emulsification to make BM softer. So far so good - still not healed fully as I occasionally still see blood with a tinge of pain but have again had a good normal day with a busy work day. So far so good. Picked up my refill of nifedipine lidocaine compounded cream.

Oh that's great you are def on the right track I'm sure it won't be long until you are fully healed.
Your bad days do seem to be less and less now.
Gosh 15lb is quite a lot to lose is there nothing higher in calories you could eat.
I was speaking to a friend today who gets really bad constipation and she mentioned having oregano oil and that it's the best thing she has tried...apparently it helps emulsification??? Lol so not a scientist, it came up as I have started using it on my fissure mixed with coconut oil, she drinks it in her tea with a bit of coconut oil lol.
Here's hoping for only good days

Good days bad days and so so days. Today was a so so day. Still some bleeding and pain about a 4. Maybe it's the olive oil maybe too much fiber but also a constant feeling of abdominal fullness and pardon me - flatulence as well. Hopefully tomorrow is better.

Oh lol welcome to my world...I am constantly windy I'm pretty sure I could power a small town lol.
Could be the olive oil that always make me worse
I just wish we didn't have bad days, sorry your pain was a 4 it's strange I used to bleed very regularly but since the fissure started hurting I have only had 2 occasions of blood.
Here's hoping your pain decreases and you have a lovely weekend

Hi Healingthroughdiet!
I wish you to be healed as soon as possible.
I've been reading your dairy and would like to ask you: did you have just Botox or had also skin tag removal (is skin tag removal the same as fissurectomy)? How long have you had your AF before botox? I have my AF for 3.5 months and don't know if botox is still possible for me, because my fissure has scar tissue which is bad for healing.

Hi umka. No I chose not to get sentinel tags removed. I have 2 fissures currently and decided not to remove the tags as I was told by my CRS that overall healing time would be longer and that removing them would not impact my fissures' healing. I have had fissures on an off for years but I think in February of 2016 is when it started back this time and my Botox wasn't till the end of May. Hope this helps and thanks for the good wishes.

Thanks for a response. Can you tell me more about botox? Was it injected under anesthesia (general or partial)? Is it painful? Are you unable to control your bm after the injection and for how long? I have been looking for information about it in google and some sources says that it helps and some says that it is as effective as GTN ointment. I don't know what to think. Right now I'm advised to make a fissurectomy by one doctor and to remove scar tissue and inject botox by another. So I don't know what to do. My AF is bleading every bm for 2 weeks now and I am very scary. Earlier I managed to avoid blood for 7-10 days between retears, but now the situation has worsened.

Yes for me it was under general anesthesia. I avoided a drug called fentanyl as its like morphine and can constipate. They gave me midazolam and something else and I was out. It was done in OR not in office. Incontinence on 1 or 2 days weeks after it. But did not last.
It was a little painful I mean just the Botox injection sites ( there were 4 sites and I got 100 units) but nothing compared to fissure itself ( I have 2 fissures) I recorded every day in my post Botox period earlier in this diary. I use nifedipine despite Botox as my surgeon believes the two add up.

The most difficult thing is that the recovery is really slow as the healing is mainly you own body. I am not sure if Botox is more effective than creams. However for me I used the cream nifedipine with lidocaine for a month and then had Botox. Overall the Botox has improved my life . But I am still on my slow recovery path .
There are always options - I have had 2 LIS decades ago first at 18 then at 27. Both times the recovery was very rapid. I certainly believe LIS recovery is faster for me. It's not just that I am older I think.
Hope this helps.
