Hi JHH, it took approximately 3 weeks for me to start seeing any improvement. I think having the internal hems banded didn't help! Good luck with the Botox. Hope you start a Botox diary too!
Thank you PIA, I am so happy that I feel better, yes the important thing is the healing process. I think you are right about diet, we all take for granted our bodies sometimes. I am doing well on the FODMAP diet! Hope you are healing too. Image

Day 38 update.....
No pain on BM, no real pain afterwards. What the heck is this weird tingling, slight pressure feeling?? I sometimes feel like i need to poop although i don't and i am needing to get on the loo quick style, and the BM is just coming out. Image No pushing. Maybe the combination of new diet, Movicol and me relaxing more and keeping up this damn hard routine is helping.....
I want to heal.... Praying to the lord above. Image

Rachael,
All sounds really good! Don't really know what to say about the pressure/tingling, but if it had anything to do with your Botox or banding, it should hopefully calm down the more time that goes by. Could just be some nerves down there responding to the Botox.
But, really really happy to hear that all in all you're still moving in a positive direction with your healing.

Thank you JR2 Image it is weird the sensations I am feeling! Not half as bad as the hell pain I was experiencing prior to the Botox. Today has been good, no pain on BM, slight irritation and weird sensations afterwards.stools are loads softer. No wheat and Gluten, I think is the key?! But too soft aggravates me, need to get the BM just right! Ugh, life with AF's! Image

I sure hope your annoying sensations go away! I've had two days with slightly difficult BM's and my AF is all irritated. Today I kept thinking it felt like I had granola up my butt. A 'crunchy' sensation. Hate it and hard to ignore. And to think that for all those years I took the lack of sensation for granted. Peace and healing. :)

DAY 45 Update...
I had the best 2 days since the Botox on Saturday and Sunday. No real pain, almost normal. Then today... 70'clock monster is playing games. A slight hard tipped BM, no blood, but some uncomfortable feeling on BM. Hope this isn't a bloody re-tear. I was going so well, this has knocked me a bit. Image It feels irritated now.The Grape has gone into hiding, which is one good thing. How the hell can i go from almost pain free, back to this damn irritation. Image
I want my life back, not having to worry about pooping every damn day!! UGH. Image Off to work soon with an irritated Butt..............

Oh oh you are struggling too these days Image
I have had bad BMs for two days in a row, and feel like I have been set back months. And that was after 14 good days where I almost thought I was about to heal completely.
Anyway, your botox should still be active so don't give up yet!
Best of luck.
- Fissure developed in Jan '13
- Started rectogesic in Feb '13 and diltiazem Apr '13.
- Got botox Jun '13
- Healed by Okt '13, although I still had some irritation for about a year.
- New fissure April '22, healed June 2022
- New fissure 24. December 2023
