Unrelated to this topic but I always wondered with the second LIS, do they cut the exact same spot as the previous LIS or do they do a new one?

I never got the pressure test from my CRS' either, they also said by looking that I have a tight bum.

Hi SB2,
Somebody on here healed with the toilet seat... I can't quite remember who it was now. If you search, you will find it. It's worth a try. I'm so sorry you may be facing another LIS. Try the toilet seat first, I know it's expensive, but if it heals you then who cares? I'd do anything for a normal bottom. I wish I could have a lower body transplant! Keep us posted. X

JBL,
I'm sure somebody can answer the LIS question for you. Good luck to you. High pressure is a problem, that's why you aren't healing. If you've already had LIS, then I'm assuming the cut was too conservative, which still leaves a high resting pressure.... ? X

Hi JBL, I'm no expert on this, but I can tell you my CRS told me he would be doing the second LIS on the right side. My first was done on the left by a General Surgeon who did it while I was on my back. The CRS said he does it with the patient on their stomach, so it is easier for him to cut the right side. Hope this helps.

Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd update... I've had a good few weeks of minimal pain and control of this hell. But today there was some stinging again on BM and I've just lost the will to live.... I'm sooooo sick of counting Fibre, checking what I eat, lubricating my bottom, worrying about pain, being miserable when I'm sore and in pain, that I just want to go and jump off the nearest bridge. 2years in Sept.... Can't take much more of this crap! I'm still waiting to hear back since my tests. Think I'm going to call the CRS secretary tomorrow. Even if I ever get this sorted out, I'm sure I'm going to be mentally damaged for life....

Hi Rachel. You have been so supportive to so many on this forum, I just feel terrible for you'd. Hope you can get in to see your CRS soon, you have been suffering too long. I noticed in one of your earlier posts that you have normal pressure. Are you going to consider the flap procedure?

Rachael, I am glad to hear you had a few weeks with minimal pain, and hopefully, it continues and you get some answers soon! As sb2 said, you've been so supportive of all of us, and I've really appreciated it!

Also, in regards to the second LIS, my CRS also said he'd do the opposite side.

Rachael my friend across the pond, I am so so sorry you are in such pain and agony. I know how you feel I truly do. I'm 6 weeks from my LIS and still having pain. I developed a new skin tag/lump at my incision site and it is so painful especially when sitting which was my main problem before surgery. Like you I just want my life back.

I really do think about you often and pray for you. Please hang in there. There has to be light at the end of what I know seems like a very dark tunnel.

Rachel, I've just read your whole thread and wanted to reach out. I'm relatively new to this fissure thing and can't imagine having to live with it as long as you have. Hope the new CRS can give you some effective options soon.
Hugs.
