Hi MS.
I'm having more pressure tests done. I had the glass feeling on the re-tear for about 3 days. Now it feels scratchy.
I used the Nitro again for a week or so. It helps a bit, but not enough, so I'm still having pain and discomfort.

I know you're having a hard recovery. My incision didn't weep or bleed, this may be because it was so small, I didn't get an infection or any problems with that. I hope you can turn a corner soon.

Hi Rachael. Today i feel the infection is back. I have been off the antibiotics for about 5 days. My CRS is away and I cannot get in to see him until Jan. 13th so I went to my GP and she is rather surprised and disappointed that there is nobody in my surgeon's office that will see me while he is away. They told me to go to the ER or my GP. As you can imagine, my GP is not all that knowledgeable about this sort of thing but she is going to try to get me in to see someone who knows more about this sort of thing. Like why won't the infection clear up? It was really swollen earlier today but not so much now. Where the heck did it go? And when I press on part of the swelling it deflates but doesn't come out the incision which makes me worry it is just going somewhere else and that is why it keeps coming back.

DH was prodding around for me as we were thinking that I will need to drain it myself again for a while and he finally had a good look at the incision site. Part of it is in a fold so it is difficult to see. He said it is about 5mm in length and that about 2/3 of it looks partly healed (like that dotted appearance if you know what I mean) and the bottom 2 mm is open and must be the part seeping still. My gut is still so upset from the antibiotics I can't believe I need to go back on them. I don't know what to do as I am not certain it is back but it feels like it did when I first got the infection. Sorry to blabber on. It's been a really hard day.

Do you think some of your pain may just be that the new tissue is very delicate and sensitive and will get better with time?

I am so sorry Rachael. What do you think you are going to do? My muscle has gone spastic too and I tore and bled from my fissure today. First time in 4 weeks. Just don't know what happened. What do you think? Does the muscle grow back?

I'm waiting on pressure tests..... I called the hospital earlier, they are waiting for the nurse to schedule the clinic. They assured me it won't be too long.... I hope not.

Well to sum it up, I'm still in pain and sore most days..... After 1 BM it's sometimes manageable. But unfortunately most days I'm having 2 BM. The spasm is making me want to die...... It travels through to my pelvis.
I just feel hopeless and don't know when this will end. Support from friends from here and meds is keeping me afloat.

I can't work out how I have t ended up in a mental institute by now..... I'm praying every day that I will have a normal bum again...... I've lost all hope at the moment. If I need another LIS, I'll do it. Want my life back.... NOW!! Agh

So sorry to hear you are still suffering Rachael. Does the ointment help your spasms at all? Do you think this is because the Doc only did a partial LIS on you?

I am really struggling too. I have post-BM spasms that are really bad so I have been trying nifedipine again only to have discovered that it makes my other muscles really tighten up. It' like a balance thing I think. My pelvic floor pulls up and in so hard and no matter how soft the stool is it feels like it comes ripping out. Feels like this is making a dozen little fissures all around and can onlu imagine what it is doing to the incision site and fissure:( So I guess I have to try to not use it. I have an appointment with my pelvic floor Doc this Wednesday and I have to figure out how to convince her to do botox again, and where I say I need it. She wanted to do just trigger point injections for a while first but I know that won't be strong enough. How do we convince Doctors of something when we know what we need so strongly. I have contemplated trying to do it myself!

Rachael n Msimon,

I'm so sorry to hear that you ladies are still struggling; was looking towards 2015 as a pain free year for all of us! Unfortunately it has not been the case...
