hopefulbutt and anyone else that could help me. I am 9 weeks today and saw my doctor who is a jerk and I am getting a second opinion. He doesn't know why my incision isn't healing and doesn't know what to do. He said there is no infection so maybe I am slow to heal. 9 weeks are you kidding me. If I wasn't in extreme pain going to the bathroom I wouldn't care, but it's intense and I can't handle it. I have no disease that would prevent me from healing. He mentioned something about a fistula but I have no infection or signs of it. He would only know if I went back to the OR. I don't want that. Would do you all think?

Lot of love I think it is good to get a second opinion. Maybe ask for manometery test to see how tight you are. I never had one but I had an ultrasound that showed that only a little of the sphincter was cut. Your lis site may be like a fissure now. But also sometimes it just takes a long time to heal. Don't give up. I'm in the same waiting game.

I am getting a second opinion on thursday, i went to my family doctor and he also examined it and said no infection just an open wound. I can not believe how much pain this is. I don't even have to have a bowel movement to even be in pain. I am trying my hardest not to give up for their is nothing to do. My doctor had the nerve to say if I wanted the pain gone today, i can have a colostomy bad. What a jerk!!!!

I got my 2nd opinion today and he would like to go into surgery and check around to see why I am not healing. He doesn't believe I have a fistula, but wants to check out things. I am so nervous, but can not stand this pain anymore. He believe I still have a fissure as well as the open wound. I guess my surgery will be next Wednesday.

How are you doing Hopefulbutt?

Hi all thanks. Wounded it was lot of love that had the second opinion....

5 weeks post LIS. I'm having better days... There is no pain on BM and it's comfortable. The incision is still healing, but there improvement, comfortable after 1 BM and some irritation after 2nd. Not as bad as previous weeks. Reduced the Movicol and consistency is better..... I'm hoping I'm turning a corner. No pain meds now either. Haven't been posting as much as it was making me more anxious! I haven't forgotten about you all. Xxxxxxx

I'm glad to hear that you are having better days... Was beginning to worry since you have not updated us but no news is good news (at least it is for this forum).

Glad to hear things are improving Rachael. I know what you mean by this forum causing you to focus more on the fissure. I have to make sure to not spend too much time on it myself. I hope things continue to improve for you.
