JHH,
Great to read you are doing so well and hopefully you have no further issues after your escapades!
I must admit I have also been wondering about waterslides recently and the impact they might have generally on that area!........I'm away in 3 weeks too and I know my little one will undoubtedly try to get me on them. Although "healed" I'm still pretty careful about any form of activity that might create any issues there, so proceed with caution I guess!....
Chronic Fissure diagnosed December 2011
Healed by Diltiazem around Feb 2013
Anal Fistula followed burst abscess in June 2012
2 internal troublesome piles remain & suspected, but undiagnosed, ongoing Levator Ani type symptoms & flare-ups

ETO, JHH - you two are giving me a heart attack with your blooming waterslides malarky!! Oh my gosh!
Image
As a girl who is a bit of a thrill seeker - I snowboard in the winter and wakeboard in the summer, I couldn't imagine doing those until next year.
I can't wait to be healed - this is the best summer for weather we've had for years and I'm missing out on water sports because I have a teeny tiny split in my bum. What a miserable thing to have.
You two be careful now you hear! (Feel like an old lady telling you off now and I'm only 27).

Morning Welsh x x
Bless you! This time next year, you'll be doing it all again - climbing Snowdon, swimming the Channel, plus all those other hair-raising activities you've got going! Just tell yourself you've chosen to have a more "relaxing" year this year. LOL!......
Ah, to be 27 again!!!!

LOL W, yeah Im the dare devil alright!
Its 25-27 degrees here, but I dont think the heat affects my fissure.
Day 54
Painless bristol 6 this morning. Only little irritation in the day.
I need to add a little bulk to my stools. I like them at bristol 5-6, but lately it has been too thin. Maybe Im going to add some insoible fiber, or decrease the lactulose..

Ohh, forgot to tell you guys this...
A few days before leaving for vacation, I felt very ill one evening. Severe fatigue, nausiated and dizzy. Called the doctor, and had a chat. We figured out, it was probably my salt balance that was screwed. I was basically drinking too much water. (drank around 5 liters a day). I started taking 1 tsp seasalt a day, and symptoms descreased and dissapered in a few days. Now, I only drink about 3 liters a day.
Just a little warning Image

wow, JHH I never knew drinking that much water could do that,, I have been told by my gastro and when my G.P recently checked me out, that my potassium was low..it/s corrected now by eating cantaloupe and a coconut water as a natural electrolyte(high in potassium)
Potassium, like iodized salt/sea salt ,very important..who knew.Image
Potassium is a mineral (electrolyte) in the body. Almost 98% of potassium is found inside the cells. Small changes in the level of potassium that is present outside the cells can have severe effects on the heart, nerves, and muscles.
My kidney's are fine and My heart is fine by my Doctor. I do have nerve and muscle damage, that has effected my system, BM, fissure and the like.

but I'm not letting this fissurethingy put my life on pause completely

Way to face those monster square on and not let them rule you. After all you only get to raise your kids once right.
Anyways, it appears there wasn't to much if any damage done. Yeah the water and salt balance can get tricky. I see in myself that leg cramps (spasms) will always clear up when I add a little more salt in my diet.
Were always learning aren't we...
